Valeo Innovation Challenge 2018wishes to encourage students from all over the world to innovate and to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, offering the winners the opportunity to create their own start-ups.
The aim of the program is to reward an innovative project, whether it is a technological innovation or an idea for new ways to use cars.
The participants will have to propose new solutions in one of the following categories:
Vehicle Electrification
Autonomous Vehicle
Digital Mobility
For the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Teams, the winning amount will be €200,000 to be shared.

Details
Nationality: There is no restriction on the nationality of the participating candidate.
Educational Qualification: The students willing to participate in the challenge should have completed their high school education.
Participation: Students from engineering, technical and science schools and universities can participate in the challenge by forming interdisciplinary teams of 2-5 members.
Travel Documents: The candidates participating in the Challenge must have a passport and all documents required to travel outside their country of residence.
Not eligible to participate
Employees associated with organisers and related companies and their children are not allowed to be a part of the Challenge.
Valeo Innovation Challenge Reward
At the end of the competition, the award prize of €200,000 will be shared between the three winning teams, as decided by the jury. The three winning teams will have to create a start-up within a deadline of six months after the results have been announced. The prize money shall be paid out to the newly created company, subject to legal and fiscal requirements.
Once the deadline has expired, the prize money can no longer be paid out. In exchange, Valeo will take a 5% stake in the equity of the future companies.
They will also have the benefit of being introduced to investors and the world’s best start-up accelerators.
The organizers reserve the right to request proof of the winning start-up’s existence of its compliance with fiscal regulations, to award each prize.
Any prize money that will not be awarded will not be put back into play.
Valeo Innovation Challenge Application form and Process
The participation to Valeo Innovation Challenge 2018 is for teams only, and the complete registration process is online. The details of the application process are as follow:
Registration: The registration form is available on the official website of Valeo, however, applicants can also download the application form by following the link given below.
The applicants are required to complete the application form and while filling the application form, candidates should upload their student card as a proof of their status as a student.
Team: Teams may be multidisciplinary in nature and include a designer, sociologist, philosopher, urban planner, architect, biologist, etc. No changes to team composition will be permitted once it is submitted.
Team Size: 2-5 persons
During the registration phase, the members of the team can be changed but once the registration phase is no further changes are allowed.
Details of the Challenge: To participate in the challenge, candidates should form a team of 2-5 members having different skills and come up with an innovative automobile-related project.
The participants will have to propose new solutions in one of the following categories:

Valeo Innovation Challenge Selection Process
Candidates need to submit a pitch (MP4 video file format), no longer than three minutes, explaining the project in a clear, audible, and simple manner.
A slideshow of five slides presenting the team and the project specifications will be submitted.
The specifications defined by the organizer for this phase will be published online at https://valeoinnovationchallenge.valeo.com
During this phase, the teams may modify the content of their entries, whether this involves the team members or the content of their project.
There will be selection criteria to be followed by the jury for the selection of the projects.
