Terra Green Photo Contest 2016

Terra green Photo Contest 2016 is organised by Terra Green Magazine named “MyGreenStory” on the occasion of  their 12-year celebration. To participate, the participants have to submit images under the wide rubric of "Environment, Wildlife, Indian Experience, and Sustainable Livelihood." 

The candidates can submit their creative photography images of everyday life in India on the given below themes along with 50 words description telling the story behind the image. The contest has already begun from July 1, 2016, and the last date of submitting of the photographs is August 15, 2016 ( Midnight 12:00).

One winner will be selected among all the entries and will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

About Terra Green Magazine: It is an award winning magazine that writes about the environmental, energy and sustainable development issues and published by TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute). 

Terra Green Photo Contest Important Dates

• Images by the winner will be featured in December 2016 Edition of Magazine.
• All winning entries will be part of a photo exhibition at international environment conference and will appear on TerraGreen by September 30, 2016.
• 5 winners will be chosen every week and will get a special TerraGreen T-Shirts.
• The candidates must note that the awards will only be shipped to the address in India.

Guidelines for Submission of Photo

• Applicants can upload only two photographs in each category.
• Applicants also have to mandatorily write the green story in the maximum of 50 words describing the story behind the photograph.
• Photographs uploaded by the candidates must be clicked by them only.
• Images must be taken within the last three years prior to the beginning date of the Contest (i.e. July 1, 2016).
• The size of each photograph must be minimum 2 megapixel and maximum of 15 Megapixel.

The following will be considered ineligible for the Terra Green Photo Contest :

• Photographs of pets or domestic animals.
• Images of captive animals photographed in zoos and commercial game farms.
• Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, such as copyright.
• Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content.
• Images that involve putting any individual or animal in danger. 

• Judging will be conducted by a panel of TERI employees and a group of guest judges to be selected by the TerraGreen editorial board.
• Photos will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit and subject matter relevance to humans and nature.
• Equal weightage shall be given to Jury’s rating and Facebook votes in deciding the winner.
• The voting period for the Competition will commence on July 15, 2016 and will be completed on or around Aug 31 , 2016.
