Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship 2017- MBA Scholarship presents an opportunity for young Indians to shape their future under the aegis of Stanford Graduate School of Business (Stanford GSB) commonly known as Stanford Business School. Dhirubhai Ambani Stanford Scholarship provides an opportunity to pursue Masters in Business Administration MBA from Stanford GSB.

The financial aid will be provided by Reliance Industries Limited and It is an MBA Scholarship for Indian Students offered for a period of 2 years. After finishing MBA at Stanford University, the fellows have to return to India for a period of two years to work in an Indian organisation.

The approximate value of the fellowship is about USD 150,000 (approximate 99,73,567 INR) to study in the USA. The fellowship is sufficient enough to cover the entire fee & other expenses.

Dhirubhai Ambani Stanford Scholarship Important Dates 

Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship offers the following benefits to the fellows selected for the fellowship:

• Amount of fellowship: The total worth of the fellowship for a single year is USD 1,50,000 (approximate 96,14,250 INR)
• Period of the fellowship: The fellowship will be offered for a period of 2 years.

Conditions related to the fellowship: The candidates need to fulfil both the below-mentioned conditions, in case the fellow doesn’t keep up with this condition, he will be required to repay the scholarship back to Reliance Industries Limited.

• Return to India: The fellow needs to return to India within a period of 2 years after completing their education at Stanford Graduate School of Business and candidates need to stay in India for a minimum period of 2 years and serve any Indian organisation.

Cost of MBA at Stanford

The general expenses of MBA at Stanford is approximately USD 112,797 to $132,333 while the scholarship is of USD 150,000 so the scholarship covers all the expenses to complete MBA at Stanford.

The candidates who are willing to apply for the scholarship need to register themselves on the website of the fellowship programme. Applicants will have to enter their personal information and academic information. The details of the application form are as follow:

• Online Application: Applications need to be made on the website of the programme. The application programme is online and there is no option for making offline applications.
• Application Fee: The pre-application process is free of charge for prospective Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows. If they are selected as a finalist their application fee to the Stanford MBA Program also will be waived. They will however, need to pay fees associated with the required aptitude exams (GRE or GMAT), language proficiency exams (IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL) if needed, and financial assistance verifications.

• Application Form: After initial registration, candidates need to log into their account and fill the required information in the various sections of the application portal. The candidates will have to enter their information in the relevant fields of the application form.
• Documents to be uploaded: While making the application the candidate needs to upload their resume on the website.
• Optional Documents: Awards and Honours (Academic or Social or Both), employment history, finalists have to submit two letter of recommendation. 
• Compulsory Documents: A 250-word essay and individual financial information.
• Submission of Application: Just the online application form has to be completed in order to complete the submission of the application form. No printed documents or application form is to be sent to Stanford GSB.

The selection process of the Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship consists of two stages.The details of the process are as follow:

• Stage 1: In the first stage nearly 50 candidates will be selected based on the merit and financial needs. Out of all the applications received, 50 finalists will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:
  • Merit
  • Commitment to developing India
  • Financial need
• Stage 2:  In the second stage the candidates need to participate in the admission process of Stanford Graduate School of Busines and up to 5 candidates may be selected as the fellows from the finalist, based on the following criteria:
  • Intellectual vitality
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Personal qualities and contributions

Before the second stage, there will be an interview conducted and 1,000 applicants will be called, and out of 1,000, only  5 will be chosen for the interview.

• Result: Stanford will declare the result of the admission process for Round 1 on 14 December 2017 and the fellows will matriculate in Stanford MBA Program in September 2017.
