About ShodhYatri Contest
- National Book Trust in association with Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) invites students from class 10 & 11 to participate in ShodhYatri Contest.
- Themes: The participants are required to write a 5000 words essay on any of the given topics:
- ShodhYatri to Sri Lanka (Search for Buddha’s Footprints)
- ShodhYatri to Thailand (Search for India’s contribution)
- ShodhYatri to Myanmar (Burma)
- ShodhiYatri to Bangladesh (Search for Martyrs & Freedom Fighters)
- ShodhYatri to Cambodia (Angkor Vat)
- Prize: One best entry from a boy and one best entry from a girl under each theme will be selected and will get a chance to visit the country they selected for the topic of their essay.
- Responsibility: The winners should submit a write up on their foreign visit within 15 days, to the Director, National Book Trust.
- The write-up will be published by the National Book Trust after appropriate modifications.
- The submission for the competition will be accepted online through MyGov platform by December 31, 2015.

- Nationality: The competition is open for Indian students studying in India.
- Academic Qualification: The participants of the competition need to be students of class 10 & class 11 from a school recognized by Boards of School Education in the country.

The selected students will be eligible for the following:
- Foreign Visit: The two best entries under each of the five themes from a boy and a girl student will be sent on a visit the concerned Asian country for about a week as a part of a team.
- Expectations from the students: Based on their experience on the foreign visit, the students will have to submit a write-up on his/her ShodhYatra within a fortnight after returning, to the Director, National Book Trust.

The application is to be made on MyGov portal. The details related to the application process of ShodhYatri Contest are:
- Application Form: The application form is available on MyGov platform and in order to participate in the competition, candidates are required to complete the submission using the application form.
- Competition Details:
- Language: The essay needs to be in English only.
- Word limit: Maximum: 5000 words.
- Theme: The students can write their essay on any of the below-mentioned themes, the details related the topics can be obtained by clicking on the respective link:

- Submission: A Single entry is to be submitted per participant and the entire will be accepted through Creative Corner of MyGov Platform. The following things are to be kept in mind to complete the submission:
- Parts of Application: The application form is divided into 3 parts and each of them needs to be submitted as a different file in pdf format:
- Part A: Personal Details
- Part B: Essay as per the competition details mentioned above.
- Part C: The participant has to give his/her own idea on the proposed visit and the purpose for which it would be used.
- The naming of Files: All the above-mentioned documents should be in the form of 3 pdf files, the candidate should use first 4 letters of their names and the section to name the file.
- For Example A candidate named Rajeev will name part A as Part A-raje.pdf

- The selection of candidates will be done by the selection committee on the basis of their application form.
- For the final selection of the candidates, shortlisted candidates will be interviewed using Skype.
