AICTE Saksham Scholarship 2019-20 for Differently Abled Persons under Saksham Scholarship Scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through All India Institute of Technical Education (AICTE). The last date for submission of the application for the 2019-20 Batch of AICTE Saksham Scholarship is 8 November 2019. Therefore, the candidates are suggested to apply on or before the due date. The application process is online and the candidates have to fill the AICTE Saksham Scholarship Form in online mode only. The link to apply for the Saksham Scholarship is given below on this page.
The scholarship will be awarded to the differently-abled students for pursuing technical education in AICTE approved Institutions in India at Diploma and Degree level. Only candidates having disability greater than 40% will be considered for the Saksham Scholarship.
The candidates who are going to apply for Scholarship 2019 will be required to note down the important dates related to the Saksham Scholarship. The Saksham Scholarship Scheme was launched on 11 November 2014, and about 1000 scholarships are distributed under the scheme. Total 50% of scholarships will be offered to the students at a Degree Level and the remaining to students at Diploma Level. The amount of Scholarship per annum per student is Rs 30,000 (or) the actual tuition fees paid, whichever is less. In case of candidates availing tuition fee waiver/ tuition fee reimbursement, an amount of Rs 30,000 may be reimbursed to the students selected for this scheme for the purchase of Books/ Laptops/ Equipment/ Vehicle/ Software/ Desktop/ Fee paid towards competitive exam applications forms/ exam fee for all the exams related to higher education/ employment and also for specific equipment/ software for visually impaired/ speech and hearing disabled (Proof of purchase to be attached). Apart from all that, contingency allowance of Rs 2000 per month for ten months will be provided.

Details
Disability Status: Candidates who have more than 40% disability are eligible for Saksham Scholarship. Educational Qualification: Students admitted to the first year in Diploma or Degree Course under any of the AICTE approved institutions for the sessions 2019-20 are eligible for the scholarship.
Annual Family Income: Their annual family income should be less than Rs 8 lakhs. |

Scanned copies of the following documents in JPG/PDF/PNG format are required to complete the Saksham Scholarship online application process:
No. of Scholarships to be given: Around 1000 students will be selected under the Saksham Scholarship Scheme. Where 500 Scholarships will be given to Degree students and 500 Scholarships will be awarded to Diploma students.
Tuition Fee: Saksham Scholarship awardees will be given Rs. 30,000 per person or the actual tuition fee, whichever is less.
Incidental Allowance: They will also be awarded Rs. 2000 for a period of 10 months in a year as incidentals/contingency allowance.
The selection of the candidates for the Saksham Scholarship will be done by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on the basis of the candidates merit in the Qualifying Examination. The decision of selecting candidates will be final and request for re-examination will not be acknowledged under any circumstances.
The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis merit in their qualifying exam to peruse the respective Technical Degree/ Diploma programs from any of the institutions which are approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
The specially-abled students who are having any disability of not less than 40% and their family income are not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year.
Note: In the case of a married girl, the income of parents/ in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered.
Q-1: I am an Eligible Candidate for the SAKSHAM Scholarship. How Can I apply for the scholarship?
Ans: You need to visit the official website www.aictepragatisakshamgov.in or click on the link given on this page and apply for the scholarship. Follow the instructions on How to fill the online application.
Q-2: I am an Eligible Candidate for both PRAGATI as well as SAKSHAM Scholarship. Can apply for both the scholarships?
Ans: No. You can apply for only one Scholarship.
Q-3: Is AADHAAR Card a Mandatory Document for PRAGATI (or) SAKSHAM Scholarship?
Ans: Yes, Aadhaar card and Aadhaar seeded bank account in the name of the candidate are mandatory for submitting the online application form for the Saksham Scholarship scheme.
Q-4: What is the format and size of Photograph & Signature to be uploaded in the portal through online application for SAKSHAM Scholarship?
Ans: Both Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/ JPEG format. The file size for Photograph is 200 Kb and for Signature is 50 Kb.
