About Oxford University IndiaaTMs Research Paper Competition
- The competition is designed to encourage intellectual discourse in wider society to give Indian students an opportunity to exhibit their knowledge of contemporary business and social issues in India.
- The 2013-14 competition seeks to address a variety of contemporary issues, ranging from privacy and state surveillance of individuals, to sporting fraud prevention and sports law reforms, to recent developments in corporate governance and social responsibility.
- Topics for the Research Paper
- Evaluate the concept of corporate social responsibility as expressed in the Companies Act 2013.
- Should gambling on the outcomes of sporting events be legalized in India?
- Do India's laws governing the surveillance of electronic communications strike the right balance between security and the right to privacy? If they do not, what reforms are needed to achieve the correct balance?

Oxford University IndiaaTMs Research Paper Competition Reward

- A “Certificate of Merit” shall also be awarded to the next 7 best teams.
- A “Certificate of Participation” will be awarded to all the participants of the Competition.
- The OU may invite up to 6 teams to present their papers at the Oxford India Summit 2014, to be held at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi, from 14th-16th March 2014.
- University of Oxford may also publish up to 3 (or more, if appropriate) research papers in one or more leading academic journal(s), at its discretion.
Oxford University IndiaaTMs Research Paper Competition Application form and Process
Application:
- Participation in the Competition is free.
- A Team shall have one or two members only.
- All individuals registering for the Competition must complete the team registration form.
Important things to note:
- No individual shall be a member of more than one registered Team. If any individual joins more than one Team, then all Teams of which such individual is a team member shall be disqualified from the Competition.
- No Team shall submit more than one paper, and a Team must write its paper only on one Research Topic.
How to register
Step 1:
- Each Team must register online by submitting the Registration Form at www.orpc.in.
- The last date for registration for the Competition is January 1, 2014 at 11:59PM GMT.
Step 2:
- After submission of registration form (online registration), each Team shall receive an email with a unique Team Code.
- After which, each Team shall submit a scanned copy of the “Verification Form” duly signed and stamped by the head of the institution, via e-mail to verifications@orpc.in
- Send the original signed and stamped copy to the address mentioned on the verification form.
- Teams may submit a short bio-data / resume (no more than 2 pages per team member) while completing Step 2.
