About ONGC Scholarship
ONGC Scholarship 2016 is offered to Economically Backward General and OBC students. ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited) is offering 1000 scholarships each worth Rs 48000 per annum.
ONGC Scholarship Application will start from September 1, 2016, and the last date to apply online for ONGC Scholarship 2016 for OBC and General Students is October 10, 2016, and the last date to receive the hard copy of the application form is October 31, 2016.

ONGC Scholarship for SC/ ST Students
- The candidates studying in the First Year only are eligible to apply.
- The candidates applying for the scholarship must note that Adhaar Card is a mandatory document. It will be required compulsorily before the release of the scholarship amount. Therefore, it is advisable to the candidates who don't have Adhar Card that they must apply and obtain their Aadhaar cards on priority.

ONGC Scholarship Renewal
For the Renewal of Scholarship, the students must send an application for "renewal” in the prescribed format. The renewal form will be available in www.ongcindia.com.
The scholarship will be continued every year until the completion of the course subject to the promotion of the students to the next year of his/her course. If the student is not promoted to the next year by the College/Institute, then his/her scholarship will be discontinued

Details |
Age: The age limit of the students must be maximum 30 years of age as on September 1, 2016, for the academic session.
Nationality: The students applying for ONGC scholarship must be studying in India and an Indian Nationals only.
Category: The candidate must belong to Economically Backward General or OBC categories.
Academic Qualification:
- Students pursuing 1st year of graduation in Engineering or MBBS course or 1st year of Master’s Degree in Geology/ Geophysics or MBA.
- The scholarship will only be applicable for students who are pursuing the above in full time and their courses are recognised by AICTE.
- The candidate should have obtained minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA in class 12 for Engineering and MBBS disciplines.
- Similarly, 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA are necessary graduation in PG courses that is Geology/ geophysics/MBA. In the case of CGPA/OGPA conversion certificate must be provided by the students.
Family Income: The annual income of the student family must be less than 2 lakhs per annum.

ONGC Scholarship Application form and Process
ONGC Application form can only be filled online by the candidates. The candidates must fulfil all the above-given eligibility criteria and read the important instructions carefully before filling the Application Form.
ONGC Application Form will be available from September 1, 2016, the last date for receipt of ONGC Application is October 31, 2016.
Steps to fill the ONGC application Form
- ONGC Scholarship Online Application Form will be available on the official website that is www.ongcindia.com.
- The candidates need to click on the registration button. After successful registration, a Registration ID will be provided.
- After registration, the candidates must move further to the application form, and enter all the necessary information correctly.
- The candidates must also upload the following documents in the application form:
- Marksheet of the Qualifying certificate
- CGPA to percentage conversion certificate issued by University/College/Institute (whenever applicable)
- Income certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Adhar Card.
- ECS mandatory form duly certified by Bank Authority along with cancelled cheque/photocopy of the front page of bank pass book.
- PAN Card
- Submit: After filling all the necessary information and uploading the documents the candidates need to submit their Application form.
- Print-Out- The Candidates need to take a print-out of the duly filled in ONGC Scholarship application form.
Submission of the ONGC Scholarship Application form
The candidates must submit the duly the filled in Application form online and the hard copy of the completely filled in application form before October 31, 2016, by writing “ ONGC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD GENERAL AND OBC CATEGORY STUDENTS” on the envelope and send to the following address:

ONGC Scholarship Selection Process
ONGC Scholarship 2016-17 will be done on the basis of the following criteria:
- Selection will be made on the basis of the merit in the qualifying examination prescribed for each eligible course of study.
- In case the students have the equal percentage of marks, then the students with lower family income shall be given preference.
- Preference will be given to students Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. If the sufficient number of students fulfilling the eligibility criteria is not available then other students will be given preference.
Disbursement of ONGC Scholarship
- The scholarship will cover a lump sum amount of Rs. 4000 per month that is Rs 48000 per year
- The amount of the scholarship is paid on a yearly basis after the completion of each academic year. The scholarship amount will be directly deposited in the students Bank Account through ECS facility. The students must fill the ECS form and deposit to the bank Authority. PAN Card is very much mandatory before the release of the Scholarship.
- In case the students opts for any other scholarship subsequently after award of ONGC Scholarship, then he/she should have to refund the entire scholarship amount received from ONGC.
