Nokia Open Innovation Challenge 2017 is being organised in partnership with Nokia Growth Partners(NGP). Innovators, startups or academia from around the world are eligible to participate in Nokia Open Innovation Challenge 2017.The application process has already been started and the last date to submit applications is 20 September 2017. Nokia Open Innovation Challenge 2017 is looking for futuristic technologies, the next big ideas and new business models in the Internet of things (IoT) domain. The top three teams will share prize money of 75 Lacs (1,00,000 Euro).
Nokia’s vision to this challenge is to expand the possibilities of technology to improve people’s lives by enabling a programmable world where billions of people, things, sensors, and devices are connected together.

Innovators who wish to participate in Nokia Open Innovation Challenge 2017 can participate by registering themselves on the Nokia’s Global Innovation Mall (GIM). Follow the link below to participate.

STEP1: Fill up the registration form with personal details and choose a password and login ID and click on Register. Email entered must be valid and in use. Verify the GIM Account by following the link sent to Email-ID provided by the participant.
STEP3: After verification, participants have to click the submission option given on the right side of the screen. A new page will open up.
STEP4: Participants have to enter the details of the project i.e. Project Title, Organisation name and all necessary columns related to their projects.
STEP5: Participants have to upload a presentation of their project that describes the concept and working.
STEP6: After answering the relevant questions and uploading the required files participants can discuss it with Nokia Support Team.
STEP7: Finally participants can submit the project by clicking the publish button on the right-hand side.
Application for the Nokia Innovation Challenge has to be submitted online only. The participants are allowed to make multiple submissions if they have a concept and proof of each. After submission of projects, participants can still edit it before 20 September 2017. Participants are advised to follow up the process by checking the GIM login.
If any candidate faces problem in the submission of their projects then they can submit it through openinnovationchallenge.iot@nokia.com.
Selection will be done by the jury based on Innovativeness, feasibility, and scalability of the idea. Submissions will be assessed considering the joint business potentials as well.
STEP1: A cross-functional jury formed by Nokia Internet of Things Domain (IoT) experts, business decision makers, Nokia Growth Partners (NGP) and other industry experts will review all the submitted applications with multiple perspectives.
STEP2: Online selection round for top 20 innovator teams will be done.
STEP3: The top 10 applicants will be notified and invited to the pre-incubation phase in Paris financed by Nokia.
STEP4: During the pre-incubation phase, the top 10 innovator teams will attend a two-day Concept Development Workshop with their assigned Nokia mentor to brainstorm and co-create the next steps towards making joint business.
STEP5: After that, the top 10 teams will present the results of the workshops to the jury of 10 Decision Makers during the award ceremony. The jury will select the teams most suited to join the Nokia Innovator Acceleration program.
