Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015

• Mslexia Magazine invites female writer to participate in Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015.
• Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 is open for female writers who are new to Novel writing and have not commercially published any of their Novels.
• The winner of the Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 will get cash prize worth £5000 (Approx. 4,90,000 INR) and Manuscript feedback from The Literary Consultancy.
• Participants are required to submit an extract from their Novel having no more than 5000 words.
• The submission for Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 can be done either online or offline. An entry fee of £25 (Approx. 2500 INR) is to be paid per submission.
• The last date for submitting the entries is September 21, 2015 and the winner will be declared in Mar/Apr/May 2016 issue of Mslexia.

Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 Rewards     

The entry selected as the winner of the Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 will be eligible for the following prizes:

• Cash Prize: The winner of the first prize will get a cash prize of £5000 (Approx. 4,90,000 INR).
• Manuscript feedback: The First prize winner along with 4 other finalists will get Manuscript feedback from The Literary Consultancy along with an invitation to a special networking event with literary agents.

Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 Application Process

The entries for Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 can be submitted online as well as offline. The details of the enrollment process are as follow:

• Mode of Application: In order to participate in the competition, entries can be sent online as well as offline.
• Specifications of the Novel: The novel should be in accordance to the following specifications:
  • Target Audience: The novel should be for young adult or adult readers.
    • Nonfiction & Fiction of children under 13 are not eligible for the competition.
  • Word Limit: The writers can submit up to 5000 words and these must be the first 5000 words from her Novel.
    • Synopsis is not required to be submitted along with the extract.
  • Font Specification: The work should be typed in double-spaced on an A4 size page, single-sided with title of the novel and page number on every page.
  • No changes will be allowed once the extract has been submitted.
  • Shortlisted writers will be asked to submit a full manuscript and synopsis for final judging.

Submission of Application          

The extract can be submitted online as well as offline. The details of the submission process are as follow:

• Registration Fee: The applicants are required to pay entry fee of 25 British pounds (Approx. 2500 INR) for each entry they want to submit.
• Online Submission: Applicants willing to go for online submission need to go through the following steps to complete their entries:
  • Step 1- Payment: Make payment of the entry fee by the means of Credit Card/Debit Card or via PayPal.
    • The entry fee will be accepted only in British Pounds.
  • Step 2- Submission: Once the payment has been received, applicants will receive a mail having a link to upload their work.
    • Format: PDF, RTF, DOC, DOCX, TXT
    • File Size: Maximum 1Mb.
    • In case no mail is received, the work can be simply emailed to ‘novel@mslexia.co.uk’.
  • Offline submission: The candidates willing to go for offline submission need to send their entries by the means of post. The submission should be accompanied by a cover page having the following information:
    • Payment: Payment for offline submission can be done using a cheque. In case of multiple submission, a single check is to be issued with the amount (Amount =Entry Fee x Number of Submissions)
    • Details to be mentioned on Cover Page:
      • Name and Pseudonym (if applicable)
      • Land address
      • Email address
      • Phone number
      • The titles of all of the novel extract

Mslexia Women’s novel competition 2015 Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be done by a panel of experts. The details related to the panel and result are as mentioned below:

• Judging panel: The judging panel consists of
  • Marina Lewycka (novelist)
  •  Juliet Mushens (literary agent)
  • Di Speirs (Books Editor, BBC Radio & Music Production)
• Result: The winners of the competition will be contacted in February 2016 and the results will be published in the Mar/Apr/May 2016 issue of Mslexia.
