KVPY 2021 - The application process for KVPY 2021 has started on 12 July 2021 as per the official website of KVPY. The candidates can apply ONLINE only for KVPY 2021 by following the application page link available on this page. On 11 May, Technology Day of India, the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) notification was released on various regional and national newspapers regarding KVPY Eligibility Criteria. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is one of the most prestigious scholarships of the nation for Basic Science students in Class 11, 12 and Bachelor’s first year. Students applying for KVPY 2021 must make sure that they are aware of Stream SA, SX, and SB eligibility criteria. Some important points regarding KVPY 2021 are provided below so that students can get a better understanding of the scholarship -
OCI/PIO students are allowed to appear in KVPY 2021 as per the Order (Final Order awaited) of the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka.
Before applying for KVPY 2021, students must make sure that they fulfil the eligibility norms. Also, the KVPY eligibility criteria will be different for various streams. Failing to meet any of KVPY eligibility norms will lead to disqualification of candidates at any point before the announcement of the result. Students preparing for KVPY 2021 must make sure that they fulfil the KVPY eligibility criteria before applying. There are 3 categories in which the KVPY exam is conducted – SA, SX, and SB. The eligibility criteria for KVPY 2021 for all the three streams are mentioned below: KVPY Eligibility for Stream SA – Class 11th Students

Candidates who are selected under the programme are known as KVPY fellows. KVPY Fellows are entitled to get KVPY Reward which is monthly fellowship and annual contingency grants up to Pre-Ph.D. level. The monthly fellowship and annual grants for stream SA/SX/SB are given in the table below:

Registration & Form Filling
The students applying for KVPY Application Form need to upload the following documents:
Caste certificate issued and duly signed by the competent authority (GOI) in the prescribed proforma in the case of students belonging to SC/ST.
Medical certificate from the prescribed authority (GOI) in the case of physically and visually challenged students certifying the percentage of disability
Fee Payment
Candidates can submit the application fee online only through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. The application fee for the KVPY Exam 2021 is:
Candidates can download the KVPY admit card 2021 online by using their registration number. The admit card will be released in the second week of October 2021. The students must verify all the details such as the Name of the Candidate, Date and Time of the Exam, Exam Centre etc. and download the admit card. On the day of the test, candidates are advised to carry the KVPY Admit Card 2021 along with them to the exam centre. Also, they must preserve it for future correspondence as well.
KVPY Mock Test 2021 is available online for students appearing for the KVPY exam. IISc has released the KVPY mock test 2021 for students preparing for the exam. Candidates can take the KVPY Mock Test 2021 online only. Taking the online mock test for KVPY 2021 will help you during the exam preparation and improve your knowledge and skills. As the KVPY exam 2021 will be completely online, the KVPY mock test will give you an idea of the computer-based KVPY aptitude test.
The selection is based on KVPY Aptitude Test. The candidates can take the KVPY Aptitude Test in both Hindi and English language. The candidates who qualify in the Aptitude Test are selected for the KVPY Fellowship starts. The candidates who are selected under KVPY and start the research in Basic Science are called KVPY Fellow.
Before appearing for KVPY Exam 2021, it is very important to check the Exam pattern of the exam. The table given below helps you understand the KVPY Exam Pattern for all the three streams SA/ SB/ SX.
For the Stream SA, Part 1 consists of total of 60 questions of 1 mark each and part 2 has a total of 20 questions of 2 marks each. The entire test is of 100 marks.

For the Stream SB/SX, In Part 1, there is a total of 80 questions of 1 mark each. The candidates can choose to attempt any 3 sections. In part 2, there are 40 questions of 2 marks each. The KVPY aptitude test aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student than his/her factual knowledge. The students are tested for the syllabus up to class 11/12/ 1st year of B.Sc. /B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. as applicable. However, there is no prescribed syllabus for the aptitude test. An extended KVPY merit list of approximately 5,000 candidates will be prepared in addition to the list of KVPY fellows. Rank certificates will be available to the candidates in the extended list. However, the candidates in the extended list are not eligible for the KVPY fellowship

Every year lakhs of students apply for KVPY Scholarship. The candidates who are studying in class 11, 12 and in the first year of graduation in basic science are eligible to apply for KVPY through the KVPY Fellowship starts only from the 1st year of graduation in Basic Science.
The students who qualify for the KVPY Exam are granted direct admission to some of the prestigious science research institutes in India.
KVPY was launched in 1999 with an objective to encourage young talented and highly driven students to opt for basic science courses and research careers in science. This fellowship is awarded on the basis of a written exam
The advertisement for the KVPY aptitude test appears on national dailies on Technology Day which is on 11 May, and on the second Sunday of July every year. Every year around one lakh candidates appear for the KVPY exam and candidates who qualify for the aptitude round are awarded the fellowship.
