International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, founded in 1954, is one of the oldest short film festivals in the world and one of the major international platforms for the short form. It is an independent festival accredited by FIAPF, the International Federation of Film Producers Associations.

The total sum of awards 25,500 €. The International Jury will award the following prizes:

Candidates can submit works of all genres not exceeding a length of 45 minutes. Only works are eligible that have not been shown at any other German festival before Oberhausen are eligible.
Productions entering the International Competition must have been completed after January 2018
Submissions to the International Competition must be made online or received in Oberhausen no later than 1 February 2018

Admitted screening formats: 35 mm, 16 mm, Super 8 and DCP
Each filmmaker may present only one work.
All submitted films will be previewed for every appropriate festival programme. All the selected candidates will be informed of the selection results in mid-March 2018
