About Inspire Scholarship

Inspire Scholarship 2017-18 for IIT Kharagpur Students scheme is organized by Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. Candidates will get scholarship amount for 5 years integrated course (except Economics-HS Branch). Those students, who have been already offered Inspire Scholarship up to admission-year 2016, shall continue to receive till the completion of Course or 5 Year, whichever is earlier. Inspire Scholarship amount at Rs. 60,000 and Mentorship amount at Rs. 20,000 per year. Online applications are invited through ERP site for Renewal and Fresh Inspire Scholarship for the Academic Session 2017-18 from the students of 5 years. Inspire Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

(Batch: 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17)
Details
  • The students’ of 2nd year and onwards
    (Batch: 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17)
  • GPA must not be lower than 6.00 without any back log subject (s) and clearing all prescribed credit requirements during the session (2016-17)
  • GPA will be calculated to Total Credit Taken and Total Credit Clear of Preceding two semesters as updated after the supplementary examination which is followed the session (2016-17)
  • Students who have the backlog, unregistered in any subject (s) in 2016-17, are not eligible for Inspire Scholarship.
  • The students’ of 1st year (2017-18) 5-year Integrated MSc course only (except Economics-HS branch) admitted securing an All India Rank (AIR) within 1000 in Common Merit List (CML) of IIT JEE-2017, are eligible for Inspire Scholarship for the year 2017-18 to be awarded by DST New Delhi. Please note the following Points
  • Not Eligible: Those students, who have applied for MCM Scholarship to be awarded by this Institute or already in receipt of KVPY/NTSE Scholarship, are not eligible for Inspire Scholarship.
(Once a student is awarded MCM or KVPY Scholarship, he/she has to continue the same and at no stage, he/she can switch over from existing MCM/KVPY to Inspire Scholarship for the Year 2017-18.)

Inspire Scholarship Reward

The candidates will get the scholarship amount as given below. The scholarship will be disbursed to the meritorious selected candidates for the period of 5 years.

  • Inspire Scholarship amount at Rs. 60,000
  • Mentorship amount at Rs. 20,000 per year

Submission of the INSPIRE Scholarship Application


The hardcopy of the application duly filled are signed with enclosing the relevant documents as stated above to be submitted to Academic (UG) Section on or before 16 August 2017.
