India Weaved in Frames Photography Contest 2015

• India Weaved in Frames (IWIF) photography contest 2015 is open for Entries for its second edition
• The contest series and exhibition aims at showcasing the great Indian diversity through three frames selected from contests themed on every Indian state and the Union territories.
• There are 5 contests in IWIF, one for every Indian state and one for the Union Territories.
• To Participate in India Weaved in Frames Photography Contest candidates have to submit photographs showcasing some salient feature of the state they would want to represent.
• It is not necessary that the contestant should belong to that state and the contest is open for participation from all around the world.
• Entries to the contest opened on August 15, 2015 and will close on October 22, 2015
• IWIF is organised by Immagine, a Kerala-based nonprofit organisation primarily engaged in photography related activities.
• The exhibition is scheduled to be held at Kerala Lalithakala Academy, Ernakulam from January 22 to 26, 2016.

• Win a Smile
• Certificate of Merit: The top three photographers who are shortlisted by a distinguished panel or the so called ‘Top Trio’, arising from each state will be awarded a Certificate of Merit during the award ceremony
• The IWIF Award: The IWIF Award consists of a custom designed Plaque, monetary prize of Rs. 25,000, and an exclusive tour package worth Rs. 25,000 to explore Kerala and to visit the IWIF exhibition.
• The IWIF Exhibition: The selected Top Trios will be exhibited at the prestigious Kerala Lalita Kala Academy Art Gallery Center (Durbar Hall), Ernakulam, Kerala from January 22-26, 2016.
• Cash Awards:
  • The winner of each contest will be awarded with a monetary prize of Rs. 2500
  • All the other two Top Trios, Rs. 1000 each

India Weaved in Frames Application Process

Candidates have to follow the below mentioned steps to Join the Contest Series. Candidates can participate in groups also

• Step 1: Registration
• Step 2: Select the menu (page), Entry Form.
• Step 3:  Fill up the required fields and select the Submit button

Important Points

• The submitted photograph must be original and taken solely by the contestant.
• Every participating contestant can submit a maximum of five entries pertaining to state(s) of their choice
• Editing to the original image shall be limited to minor cleaning work, levels, curves, color, saturation, contrast, and cropping
• No text/information/watermark is permitted over the submitted image.

Specifications of the Images

• Permissible size of the image: 1400 to 1600 pixels
• Format: JPEG/JPG format only.
• File Size: less than 1 MB
• Image File Size: 24 inch @ 200 DPI 

Application Fee Payment

Candidates are required to pay an Application fee of Rs. 100 per entry. Like if you submit three entries, the entry fee would be Rs. 300 via any of the two modes listed below:

Mode 1: Online: pay using Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking

Mode 2: Demand Draft: demand Draft (DD) should be crossed and drawn in favor of Immagine, payable at State Bank of India (SBI), SME Branch, Thiruvananthapuram (Branch Code: 7211, IFSC: SBIN0007211).

Kindly Note:  Write your name, email id, and contact number (as registered with us) on back side of Demand Draft or on Money Order form, as applicable.

Submission

India Weaved in Frames Selection Process

India Weaved in Frames contest series will undergo three rounds – First, Second, and Final for Final Selection:

First Round

• The ratio of the contests and judges is 31 and 3 respectively.
• After verification by the Immagine panel, the selected photographs will be submitted to all the three judges.
• Each judge will select top ten photographs for every contest.
• Top ten photographs of each judge will be allotted with marks; first will be awarded 10 marks, second 9, third 8 and so on.
• From this round, a maximum of 30 photographs will be qualified for next round.

Second Round

• The number of judges remains the same i.e. 3
• All the qualified entries from the First Round will be submitted to all the judges.
• Each judge will select top three photographs for every contest. First will be awarded 3 marks, second 2 and third 1.
• On the basis of marks scored, Top Trio will be announced.
• Top Trio means, one distinguished winner and two equally positioned photographs.
• In case of a tie, marks scored in the First Round will be considered.

Final Round

• The purpose of this round is to select the IWIF Award winner, the finest out of 31 winners.
• The 31 winning images will be submitted to all the 6 judges.
• Each judge will decide on the best of his choice.
• The most elected photograph will be the final winner.
• In case of a tie, marks scored in the previous rounds will be considered.
