About India Innovation Challenge Design Contest
DST & Texas Instruments Inc. India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2016 is open to all the students pursuing B.E/B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech & PhD from Indian Engineering Colleges. India Innovation Challenge Design Contest is an initiative by Texas Instruments in collaboration with Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Banglore. The contest is anchored by MyGov and Make in India. The candidates have to participate in teams and submit a Proposal of new and innovative ideas on or before September 30, 2016.
- Each team must have a minimum of two and a maximum of five students. The participating teams have to explain the uniqueness/differentiation of their proposed solution with respect to the existing competition in the current scenario.
- The contest is for Indian Engineering students from Indian Engineering Colleges who have a dream to create something new and wants to make a difference and contribute to India’s success towards becoming an innovation hub.
- TI Tools for the contest: Each team is eligible to order any EVM manufactured by Texas Instruments and available on the TI Store. The Qualified teams will be given an e-store coupon to place the order. Every team can order TI tools worth USD $200 worth.

- STEP 2: Register your team on the submission portal. Click here to sign for the contest and receive registration details.

- STEP 3: Design a solution that uses at least two TI analogue ICs and one TI processor. candidates must note that use of non-TI processor in project is not allowed.
- STEP 4: Submit your project proposal as per following guidelines on or before September 30, 2016, by 23:59 (IST).
Guidelines for Proposal Submission
- The Team leader must register on myGov and share the Project and the details of the team members and must assure that all the team members and the faculty member has been registered on myGov and accepted the participation.

- Each team must submit one proposal consisting of 7 pages and in the case of multiple submission, the first submission will be considered eligible for review.
- All Proposals must be submitted in PDF format with a maximum size of 5 MB.
- Each team should review their proposal carefully before final submission because no changes will be accepted after the submission.
India Innovation Challenge Proposal Submission
The Team must submit their completed Proposal on the Online portal that is myGov.
- The team of atleast 2 to maximum 5 members from any Engineering colleges in India.
- The students can form a team from different departments of the same college.
- All the students should belong from the same college.
- The faculty member should also be from the same college of the participating team
- Once the Proposal has been submitted the team cannot make any changes among the team members.
- If a team member decides to leave the team after the proposal submission, the team cannot replace this team member.
India Innovation Challenge Design Contest Selection Process
The Judging or selection of the winner team of India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2016 will consist of four different Rounds:
Qualifying Round: The teams who will submit their proposal before September 30, 2016, automatically enters the qualifying round. The proposals will be reviewed as per Qualifying Round Judging Criteria and the shortlisted teams will enter the quarterfinals of the contest. The Shortlisted teams for the Quarterfinal Round will be announced by November 15, 2016.
Quarter Finals: The quarter-finalists can request TI components up to USD $200. The teams will complete their prototype; submit their project report & a video demonstration of their project, uploaded on YouTube by Feb 28, 2017. The reports and video demonstration will be reviewed as per Quarter Final Judging Criteria and shortlisted teams will enter the Semifinals. The shortlisted teams for the Semifinals will be announced by Mar 31, 2017.
Semi-Finals: The Semifinalists will be invited to the Regional Demonstration and Evaluation event for live demonstration and evaluation of their project. These events will be held in April of 2017. The teams will be evaluated as per Semifinal Judging Criteria and shortlisted teams will enter the finals. The shortlisted teams will be notified by May 20, 2017.
Finals: The finalists will be invited to Final Evaluation event in July of 2017. Select finalists will be provided direct mentorship from IIM Bangalore for Incubation.
