ILEP - The International Leaders in Education Program is for the outstanding secondary school teachers with minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience. The program aims to bring the teachers from around the globe to the United States to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.
The International Leaders in Education Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by IREX. ILEP is a 5 months program along with an Internship at U.S university graduate school of education.
The ILEP fellows are equipped with the following skills through targeted coursework, intensive training, and collaboration with colleagues from around the globe in the 5 months program
ILEP selects fellows with field experience at a secondary school which complements the coursework and actively engages Fellows with American teachers and students.
The United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) promotes mutual understanding between the nationals of India and the U.S. through the educational exchange of outstanding scholars, professionals and students.

IREX which administers the program is an international non-profit organisation and has got the right to verify all of the information mentioned in the application. In a case of any discrepancy and false information, the application will be declared invalid and ineligible for the applicant.
General guidelines for filling the Application Form
It is to be noted that all applicants must include the Institutional Support and Reference Form (ISRF), which must be completed by the supervisor of the school he/she is currently employed. The form must be signed in ink. An English translation must be provided if the form and reference letter those not written in English.
Format of the application form
ILEP Fellows will be selected through a merit-based open competition. Top candidates will be interviewed by an interview panel, and must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or provide valid results from within the past year, (test date no earlier than June 2015).
