Facebook Emerging Scholar Award Program 2017

Facebook Emerging Scholar Program 2017 is a part of Facebook’s on-going commitment to identifying promising PhD students and supporting them in their research throughout their careers. Facebook Emerging Scholar Program 2017 is only for first or second year PhD students who are members of a minority group that is underrepresented in the technology sector. 

Facebook Emerging Scholar Award Program is open to students at universities in the US and abroad who are enrolled during the current academic year and studying any one or an area related to the following subjects:

• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• System Architecture.

This program is designed to specifically support talented students from underrepresented minority groups and encourage them to continue their PhD studies, and pursue innovative research, and engage them with the broader research community.

Facebook Emerging Scholar Program 2017 Important Dates

Facebook Fellowship Program 2016

Facebook Fellowship Program 2017-18 is offered for a period of 2 years and the candidates selected for the scholarship will be entitled to the following benefits:

• Tuition Fee: Facebook will pay the tuition fee of the candidates for next 2 academic year and the candidates will get a stipend of 37,000 USD (Approx. INR 24 Lakh).
• Travel Support: Up to $5000 for the Conference travel support.
• A trip to Facebook Headquarters: The candidate will get a chance to Visit Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, California on a paid trip.
• Internship: Candidates will have a chance to be associated with Facebook on a paid Internship.

Registration for Facebook Emerging Scholar program

The candidates should fill in the details in the application form available at Facebook Fellowship Program page on Facebook using their Facebook ID and Password.

Documents to be enclosed with the application form:

The applicants are required to provide the following documents to complete the application process for the Scholarship program:

• A Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Valid Email,  phone and mailing address along with applicable course work.
• Research Statement: Applicants are required to submit 1-2 pages as a summary of the research being done by the candidate. The summary should give a clear idea about the area of focus and applicability of anticipated research for Facebook.
• Letter of Recommendation:  Applicants are required to submit 2 letters of recommendations one from Advisor and other needs to be a Professional reference from academia or industry.

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the strength of candidates proposed research and the recommendation letters of their research work. The candidates will be selected by a panel of Judges which will be selected by Facebook.
