DST WOSA 2017 - Women Scientists Scheme is a fellowship program only for women candidates who want to research in basic and applied sciences and the program is being offered by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The DST WOSA 2017 program aims to revive the profession of the female students who have been left out of the S&T activities due to various circumstances. The candidates selected for DST WOSA 2017 - Women Scientists Scheme will get a research grant of Rs 30 Lakh (for PhD or equivalent), Rs. 25 lakh (for M.Tech/M.Pharm or equivalent) and Rs. 20 lakh (for M.Sc. or equivalent) for R&D project proposal for 3 years.
Through DST WOSA 2017 - Women Scientists Scheme, the government is providing opportunities to women scientists and technologists between the age group 27-57 years who are desirous to return to mainstream science. There is no due date to apply for DST WOSA 2017, this is an open ended scheme and the candidates can apply throughout the year. The discipline for the research for the scientists are as follows:

Age Criteria: The women candidates who are aged minimum 27 years of age are only eligible to apply for DST WOSA 2017. Maximum age for MSc or equivalent is 35 and for PhD and equivalent category is 57 years. 5 years of relaxation in age will be given to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and PWD categories. |
The women candidates selected for DST WOSA 2017- Women Scientists Scheme will be provided with a research grant with an upper limit of Rs 30 Lakh (for PhD or equivalent), Rs. 25 lakh (for M.Tech/M.Pharm or equivalent) and Rs. 20 lakh (for M.Sc. or equivalent) for R&D project proposal for 3 years. This grant will also include the cost of small equipment, contingencies, travel, consumables and the following monthly fellowship:

The eligible women candidates who want to apply for DST WOSA 2017 - Women Scientists Scheme will have to submit Project Executive Summary (PES) online. PES is prepared only by the candidates which contain general information about the candidates and a brief summary of the proposal of the candidates. The candidates have to follow the following instruction for submission of the Project Executive Summary (PES) online.

The women candidates who want to apply for DST WOSA 2017 will have to submit Project Executive Summary (PES) only through online mode. After ensuring that everything is correct and in order, the candidates have to click on print and submission button for final submission. Now the candidates have to take a print out of submitted PPD for the own record. No hard copy of the application form is to be sent, however, the candidates are advised to keep a hard copy of the application form for the future references.
Department of Science & Technology, Government of India is responsible for selecting the women candidates for DST WOSA 2017 - Women Scientists Scheme. The selection committee selects the eligible candidates from the submitted PPD of the candidates.
