Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship 2016 for India

• Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship will be given to 10 Indian Graduates planning to pursue their postgraduate studies in Christchurch, New Zealand.
  • Candidates can pursue postgraduate studies in specific disciplines which are aligned to clearly identified skill shortage areas associated with the rebuild programme such as Construction, Engineering, ICT and Science.
• Educated Skills Scholarship recipients will have opportunities to undertake internships or gain employment in companies in New Zealand.
• In 2014, Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarships worth NZD$150,000 were awarded to Fifteen top Indian students
• The programme is fully supported by Education New Zealand and the Canterbury Development Corporation, the economic development agency of the Christchurch City Council.
• Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship is open for Semester 2 applications. the last date to apply is April 30, 2016.

Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship Reward

• There is a maximum scholarship pool of NZ$104,000 available for suitably qualified and experienced students.
• In all 10 skills scholarships will be offered, relating to specific disciplines aligned to Christchurch skills shortage areas such as Construction, Engineering, ICT and Science.
  • 2 students get Christchurch Mayoral Scholarships  (2 X $12,000 each) are presented by Mayor Lianne Dalziel to two students who display outstanding merit in their qualifications and professional fields.
  • 8 Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarships worth $10,000 available for students who demonstrate exemplary standards in their qualifications.
• The scholarships will be offered over 2 intakes for students starting in semester 1 and semester 2 2016.

Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship Application Process

• Candidates have to download the application form from the official website. 
• Applications may be made directly with Christchurch Educated or through a New Zealand Specialist Education Agent based in India.

Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarship Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the applications received and fulfilling of the prescribed eligibility criteria.
