AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest

• Adana Amateur Photographers Society (AFAD) invites photographers from all around the world to take part in their 3rd International Photography Contest.
• The AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest is open for professional as well as amateur photographers.
• The interested candidates can submit their entries to any of the four categories of the contest, which are:
  • Print (Open)
  • Open Color
  • Open Monochrome
  • Digital Experimental
• The participant are required to pay an entry fee of 20 USD (Approx. 1400 INR) and 35 USD (Approx. 2400 INR) if they want to participate in all categories.
• The theme of the photography contest is Fight against land degradation, desertification and drought.The winners will get various prizes from Adana Amateur Photographers Society (AFAD).

AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest Rewards

The candidates selected as the winner of the International Desertification Photo Contest will get the following benefits:

• First Prize: The winner of the First prize will get a FIAP Gold Medal.
• Second Prize: FIAP Silver Medal will be given to the winner of Second Prize.
• Third Prize: The third prize winner will get FIAP Bronze Medal.
• Honorable Mentions: 6 participants will get FIAP Mention.
• AFAD Mehmet BaltacA Special Award (only for open color section),
• TFSF Special Award (only for print section),
• Acceptance:  For every section 8 to 25 percent of all the images participating.
• Best photographer of the contest: The photographer who has the most acceptances and awards will be awarded with Best Photographer.

AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest Application Process

The application process of AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest will be completely online and the details of application process are as follow:

• Mode of Application: The applications along with the entries for the contest are to be submitted online. >> Click here to register for AFAD 3rd International Photography Contest.
• Specification of the Photographs: The details related to the photographs, Themes etc. are as follow:
  • Subject: Fight against land degradation, desertification and drought.
  • Category: The entries can be submitted in any of the four categories:
    • Print>P (Open)
    • Open Color > OC
    • Open Monochrome > OM
    • Digital Experimental > DE
  • Number of Entries: Eachparticipantcan submit up to 4 entries to each category.
  • Photo Manipulation: Editing or enhancing the photograph using software such as Photoshop etc. will lead to the disqualification of the entry.
• Entry Fee: In order tomake application for the International Desertification Photo Contest applicants should make payment of 20 USD (Approx. 1400 INR) and every additional section will be 5 USD (Approx. 35o INR)
  • If a candidate is willing to apply for all categories than a payment of 35 USD (Approx. 2400 INR) is to be made.

Submission of the Entries

• For Online Entries: In order to complete the submission of the entries the photos must be according to the following timelines:
  • Format: JPG/JPEG
  • Compression quality: 8-12
  • Size: between 2-4 Mb.
  • There should be no name, signature, logo, dates of entrants on the photo.
  • Naming:The name of the file should be done in 4 sections and should have maximum 31 characters:

<Country Code><First 5 letter of candidate’s name><Category: OC for Open Color><Number of photograph>_<Name of Photograph> Example: INheenaDO2_brio: Country code for India<IN>, First 5 letter of candidate’s name <Heena>, Category <OC>, Number of photograph <2>_ Name of Photograph < brio >.

• For Print Entries: The Prints are to be sent without frames or margins. The maximum length of any side of photograph needs to be 30 cm and the name, surname, address, titles of the photos with order “1/4, 2/4”should be written on the back of the entries.The entries are to be sent to:
