VVM 2017 will be the first App-Based Exam launched by “Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam”, Minister of state for electronics and IT. This mobile application is designed to conduct a nationwide science talent search examination, said Union minister on 31 October 2017. As per the minister's statement, over 91,000 students have already registered for national science talent examination for which the exam would be conducted in 2078 centres across India.
This is the first time that the app-based examination is going to conduct in India by the government along with the huge number of people said, minister. This application was inaugurated last week and will be used for National Science Talent Search examination that will be held on 26 November 2017. The VVM (Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan) application is compatible & available for Android and Apple’s iOS platforms.
Main Motive of this VVM App
According to minister, at present children use memorization techniques to study by heart every word and reproduce the same in the examination to just get maximum marks in the exam which is wrong. This will not make India a country of "young bright and talented children". That should be changed. Students should use the digital technology to learn science, about India, and famous people who have made science popular. This is the main objective of science talent examination across the country, said Mr Alphons.
About the VVM App Examination
Those students who are willing to appear in the National Science Talent Search examination have to register on the mobile application and required to visit the authorized centre to take the test. Once the examination starts, the VVM app will disconnect and free all other applications of your mobile or laptop.
The examination will be conducted in two sections i.e. junior classes (Class 6-8) and senior classes (Class 9-12). Students can get the syllabus for the test online. Every student will be evaluated on the basis of performance in the class, Vigyan Prasar, Scientist Arvind C Ranade said.
