The KVPY notification was released on 11 May 2019. The notification provides the details on the KVPY Eligibility for all the streams SA, SB, and SX.
- Eligibility for Stream SA - The students studying in class 11 with science subjects in the 2019-19 session and willing to join an undergraduate program in basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) after their class 12.
- Eligibility for Stream SX - The students studying in class 12 with science subjects in the 2019-19 session and willing to join an undergraduate program in basic sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) after their class 12.
- Eligibility for Stream SB - The students studying in the first year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./ B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in basic sciences.

What is KVPY?
KVPY is a national fellowship programme administered by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore) and is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The objective of the KVPY programme is to encourage the talented and highly motivated students to take up basic science courses and research career in science. This fellowship is awarded on the basis of a written exam followed by an interview.
KVPY Scholarship - Rewards and Benefits
Candidates who qualify the KVPY Exam get monthly fellowship and annual contingency grants up to Pre-Ph.D. level. The monthly fellowship and annual grants for stream SA/SX/SB are given in the table below:
