JEE Main 2017 exam centres to have Aadhar-Based Biometric Attendance. Now the Aadhaar card becomes a mandatory document for the candidates to be a part of JEE (Main)–2017. After making Aadhaar mandatory for the JEE (Main) examination application process, the Joint Apex Board (JAB) has decided now to use Aadhaar-based biometric attendance machines at JEE Main examination centres for marking attendance of each candidate, the official sources said.
Previously, it was decided that the Indian candidates will require their Aadhaar Number while filling the application form for JEE (Main) 2017 and the candidate's Name, Gender and the Address will be validated on the basis of the candidates Aadhaar card. In case, if any of these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be allowed to be a part of JEE Main 2017.

In a recent meeting of the board on Thursday, the decision was taken to put in place this system in order to stop malpractices and cases of impersonation. Now expenditure will be borne by the CBSE, which conducts the JEE (Main) examination from the fee received from candidates, Sources said. Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam will have relaxation from this mandatory rule of furnishing Aadhaar numbers for JEE (Main).
The official sources said on Thursday that there were a few cases of impersonation reported last year during the JEE (Main) examination. In addition to this, CBSE will also ensure scanning the OMR sheets at the examination centres immediately after the test is over in the presence of officials under CCTV recording.
The eligible candidates seek admission in undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad apply for JEE (Main) which is an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced). The last date of the application process is January 2, 2017, and the JEE (Main) examination scheduled to be held on April 2, 2017.
