IITs to start campus placement from November 2017

IITs to start campus placement from November 2017 and the list of recruiters include doubles the number of PSUs and PSEs as seen from 2016 placements. In this placement season, well-known state-run organizations will come at the Indian Institutes of Technology to select talented candidates for their organization before multinational and new-age companies descend on the campuses with their big & attractive salary packages to students. The top IITs have decided to open a window for placement next month instead of 1^st December for public sector companies and agencies such as Indian Space Research Organization.

Engineering Entrance Exam

This is a great opportunity for IIT students to work with prestigious Indian Organization in core engineering sectors and also can be a part of national projects such as Make in India and Smart Cities. The salary in PSU’s is a bit lesser than private companies and no stock options will be offered. According to placement experts and industry executives, students in IITs are showing interest to working with the government organizations and give contribution in the nation’s transformation.

IIT want to give students the first chance to work at PSUs or PSEs before the placement begin. Debasis Deb, chairman of the career development centre at IIT-Kharagpur said that they never invited any company before December.

The movement of inviting PSUs such as Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corp, Bharat Electronics, Coal India and space agency ISRO to their campuses in the placement season was begun in the year of 2015.

The last year placement stats are given below for some of the top IITs. This year it is expected to have double the number of PSUs, Such PSUs are going to call the number of students earlier this year to avoid the students getting two offers.
