DU Admissions may start from April 2018 as said by the university official. Earlier the admission process of Delhi University use to start in the month of May, however, this year admission process is expected to start in April itself. DU Admission Committee will soon release official notification for 2018 admissions.
In a gathering of 33 members out of 47-member committee, the discussion takes place on the spike or moderation of marks policies by the different boards so that it makes easy to prepare cut off list guidelines. The university is making the admission process more convenient for the students of different boards across India.

The committee is also looking forward in setting more realistic cut-offs so that seats won't remain vacant even after the third or fourth cutoff. The university will also take appropriate action on the feedback by the colleges on long-running admission process.
The committee is contemplating to make complete admission process and counselling will be online in the academic year of 2019-2020. Also focusing to make some improvements like the computer based online test for PG admissions, forensic experts to check the authenticity of certificates, giving strength to grievance redressal mechanism by fixing bugs noticed in phone lines and positioning more volunteer at University Information Centre. Based on previous year’s data, more male candidates from OBC category has applied over female candidates, however, seats remain vacant and therefore committee has proposed the idea to reserve the 2% for the woman under OBC quota. They also added to give special or additional benefits to the Northeast states candidate especially to schedule caste and person with the disability.
Statements uttered in the events orderly regarding DU Admission
- “We are still working on the finer details. There are some issues we need to sort out as we don’t want to leave any last-minute glitch. Admissions will start soon,” said a member of the admission committee.
- The chairperson of the DU admission committee MK Pandit stated, “We are thinking we will have a kind of orientation prior to finalizing the first, second and third cutoffs. We will bring the principals (of colleges) in one place and present to them the whole data, so they know where their college can stand in terms of cutoffs".
