XAT Exam Pattern 2019 – XAT exam is conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute), Jamshedpur on the behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). The XAT Exam Pattern 2019 is prescribed by the conducting authority, XLRI. The XAT exam will be expected to be conducted in the first week of January 2019. XAT 2019 will also be conducted in online mode. For last 60 years, it was conducted in offline mode. As XAT 2019 will also be in online mode so, the XAT Exam Pattern 2019 will also remain the same as last year. The candidates will be able to register for XAT 2019 from the third week of August 2018. However, the new dates will be notified soon by the conducting authority on the official website.

XAT Exam Pattern 2019 – Overview
Here we have mentioned the complete details on the XAT Exam Pattern 2019:
- XAT Exam Mode – The XAT Exam will be conducted in online mode.
- Sections – There will be to sections for the exam i.e. Paper-1 and Paper-2.
- Duration – The time duration of the exam is 3 hours 35 minutes.
- Number of Questions – There will be total 98 questions in the question paper.
- Type of Questions – 97 objective type MCQs and 1 Essay.
- Section Division – The question will be asked from multiple sections i.e. Quantitative Ability, Verbal & Logical Reasoning, English Language, G.K and Essay Writing.
- Scoring pattern – 1 mark will be awarded for each correct response and +3 for essay writing.
- Negative Marking – 0.25 (1/4) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
The XAT Exam Pattern 2019 will be comprised of total 5 sections including English language & Logical Reasoning, Decision making, Quantitative Ability, General Knowledge and Essay Writing. The exam will be conducted in online mode instead of pen and paper-based mode. The XAT 2019 exam will be conducted in online mode this year as well. Hence, the exam pattern will remain same.

XAT Exam Pattern 2019 – Marking Scheme
According to XAT Exam Pattern 2019, in the total number of 97 questions, each question will carry 1 mark. Besides that, essay writing section will carry 3 marks. The candidates will be awarded by 1 mark for each correct response and awarded by 3 marks for the essay. There will also be negative marking. 0.25 (1/4) marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
XAT Exam Pattern 2019 – XAT Syllabus
According to XAT Syllabus, there will be total 5 sub-sections in both of the two sections i.e. Paper-1 and Paper-2.
Section – A: In the section of Quantitative ability, the questions will be asked from the topic such as trigonometry, geometry, arithmetic, graphs, tables, profit & loss, speed & distance, statistics, clocks etc.
Section – B: In the section of Decision Making, the questions will be asked from the topic like analytical reasoning, situational reasoning, data interpretation, and data arrangement etc.
Section – C: In English Language and Logical Reasoning section, the question will be asked from the topic like reading comprehension, grammar, jumbled paras, para completion, and vocabulary etc.
In Paper-2, there will be 2 sub-sections i.e. G.K and Essay writing. In G.K section the question can be asked from history, sports, politics, current affairs, entertainment, awards, nations, states, society, business etc. Apart from that, in essay writing the topic can from anywhere, like economics, development, country, environment related, politics etc.
