WBJEE Exam Pattern
All questions in every discipline will be in Multiple Choice with four options against each of the questions. Each question paper will contain 3 categories of questions. All 3 categories are mentioned below:

WBJEE Question Paper: Category 1 Questions
- There will be only one correct answer
- Each Correct answer will yield 1 mark each
- Negative Marking: 1/4 of the marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer
WBJEE Question Paper: Category 2 Questions
- There will be only one correct answer
- Each Correct answer will yield 2 marks each
- Negative Marking: 1/4 of the marks i.e. 0.5 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer
WBJEE Question Paper: Category 3 Questions
- More than one option may be correct and marking of all correct options only will yield two marks.
- For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect responses, the net mark awarded will be zero (0) and
- For partially correct response without any incorrect marking Marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct responses) / (total no of correct options)
WBJEE 2017 - Mode of Answering
- Questions must be answered on specially designed machine readable answer sheets (OMR Answer Sheet)
- Candidates are required to mark the answer using BLUE/BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY ON on the OMR Answer Sheet.
WBJEE Syllabus 2019
The syllabus for WBJEE is expected to remain the same. The WBJEE syllabus consists of subjects, namely, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates are advised to focus on all of the subjects equally to get a good rank score. Candidates should practice through WBJEE question paper of all the subjects and identify the areas where they are weak and need improvement. The WBJEE Syllabus includes all the topics that are relevant in today's world and provides an in-depth knowledge of all the key concepts to the students.
WBJEE Preparation Tips
A good score and good rank totally depend upon the preparation level of the student. We have given a few WBJEE preparation tips below that a student can follow and score better in WBJEE Exam.
- First of all, familiarise yourself with the syllabus and exam pattern of WBJEE.
- Create a study plan and a timetable, follow it religiously.
- Work on the newer and weaker topics and concepts at the beginning of the preparation. Don't start a new topic when the exams are near.
- Revise all the topics and give time to each topic. Keep in mind that you leave no topic untouched from the beginning. This will avoid you starting a new topic at a time when exams are approaching.
- Take frequent breaks while studying in order to avoid a decrease in efficiency while preparing for WBJEE.
- Try to solve WBJEE question paper of each subject within a stipulated time equal to the actual exam. This will give help in improving the speed of giving answers in the actual exam too.

The WBJEE exam is a state level exam hence the competition is less, and the exam is also not as difficult as the major engineering entrance exams such as JEE which is pretty tough and given by a million students every year.
