KEAM 2018 Reservation of Seats is explained in detail on this page. KEAM 2018 is an Entrance Test for admission into various Engineering courses, However, The candidates who wish to apply for professional degree courses in Engineering, Architecture, MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Unani, Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, and Fisheries have to apply online and send a printout to the CEE on or before the last week of February 2018. Various seats are reserved under KEAM 2018 for various categories. 60% Seats will be allotted on the basis of merit and rest 40% will be reserved. Of the reserved seats, 30% will be reserved for SEBC candidates, 8% for SC and 2% for ST candidates. The break up of the reservation is given below.
Only candidates belonging to ‘Keralite’ category are eligible for claiming seats under Mandatory quota in Government / Aided Colleges and Special reservation quota.

- State Merit: Seats reserved under this category will be awarded purely on merit basis, irrespective of the category to which the candidate belongs.
- Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC)
- Annual family income not more than Rs 6 lakhs.
- Candidate can be self/son/daughter/spouse/ward of the income-holder.
- Documents to be submitted for Claiming Reservation for SEBC Candidates
- The candidates applying under SEBC category have to produce the Community Certificate as well as the Income Certificate from the Village Officer.
- These documents have to submit along with the application form.
Documents to be submitted for Claiming Reservation for SC/ST Candidates
The candidates claiming reservation under SC.ST have to submit the caste/ community certificate obtained from the Tahsildar concerned, in the proforma given in the application specifically meant for them
Reservations for Persons with Disabilities PWD- 3 percent of the seats available to the State for allotment from the State rank lists are reserved for candidates with disabilities for all courses in Govt./Aided College
Such candidates include:
- Visually handicapped
- Hearing disabled
- Locomotory disabled
Persons with 50-70% Disabilities will be eligible for seats under reservation quota, as per the Medical Council of India guideline
Documents to be submitted for Claiming Reservation for PwD (Along with the Application Form)
- A self-attested copy of the certificate of disability from the District Medical Board
certifying the percentage of degree of disability. - The Certificate should be issued not earlier than 3 months prior to the last date of submission if applying for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BHMS/BVSc. & AH and not earlier than 12 months if applying for BSc. (Hons.) Agri., BFSc. (Fisheries), Engineering and Architecture.
- The Certificate should be attached to the KEAM application form.
Special Reservation Quota in KEAM 2018
Seats in various colleges under KEAM 2018 will be allotted under the following categories for Govt/Aided/KAU/KVASU/ KUFOS Colleges. Reservation of seats in Govt Colleges is given below.

Special Reservation Categories for KEAM 2018
The Special reservation categories include the following and it is valid for admission into Engineering Courses, MBBS/BDS, Homeo Medical Courses, Ayurveda Courses, Agriculture, Veterinary & Fishery Courses.
Ex-servicemen Quota (XS)/Serving Defence Personnel (SD)/ CRPF (RP): Candidate should be son/daughter of ex-serviceman/SD/RP or an ex-serviceman/SD/RP himself /herself.

- Students should produce their requisite degree/diploma certificate at the time of admission to ensure admission under this category.
- Degree Holders in MBBS/BAMS/BVSc & AH/ BSc (Hons) Agri/ BFSc/ BSc(Hons) Forestry (OH)(For BHMS Course):
One seat is reserved in this category.
Nurse-Allopathy (NQ): One seat under this quota for MBBS course is reserved for Nurses(Allopathy) in regular service under Government of Kerala.
Nurse/Pharmacist-Homoeopathy (NH): One seat is reserved under this category for BHMS course.
Nurse-Ayurveda (NY): One seat reserved under this category for BAMS course.
Children of Agriculturists for BSc.(Hons.) Agri. and BVSc. & AH Courses (CA):
- The main source of income of the family must be from agricultural sources.
- The non-agricultural annual family income should not exceed Rs 12000.
- Parent/Guardian must not be an assessee of income tax.
Children of Farm Labourers of KAU for BSc.(Hons.) Agri., B.Sc (Hons) Forestry Courses (LG), BVSc&AH course under KVASU (LV), BFSc course under KUFOS (LF)
- The seats under this quota in BSc.(Hons.) Agri. and B.Sc(Hons) Forestry Courses are reserved for Children of Farm Labourers of KAU.
- The seats under this quota in BVSc & AH course is reserved for Children of Farm Labourers of KVASU.
- The seats under this quota in BFSc course is reserved for Children of Farm Labourers of KUFOS.
Children of Fishermen for BFSc. Course (CF):
- Major source of family income must be from fishing.
- Student must be son/daughter/ward of a fisherman.
- Maximum family income should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs.
- Dependants are the son/daughter/brother/sister of fishermen.
Village Level Workers (VL)/Agricultural Demonstrators (AD)/Farm Assistant (Agri.) (FA)/ Diploma Holders in Agricultural Science (DG) [For Agricultural courses only]
- Two seats are reserved for VL.
- Ten seats reserved for AD.
- FA-2 seats.
- DG-6 seats
- Candidates need to submit the requisite document at the time of admission in order to claim admission under this category.
- Reservation will be based on the basis of rank scored in the Medical Entrance Examination.
Live Stock Inspectors (LS)/Farm Assistant (Vety.) (FV)/Dairy Farm Instructors (DF) [ForVeterinary courses only]:
- Two seats are reserved under this category for LS.
- One seat is reserved for Veterinary
- Two seats are reserved for DF.
- Marking scheme: Out of 500, taking into account academic merit (Higher Secondary = 200) higherqualification (BSc. = 100, MSc. = 100) and length of service (100).
- This amount will be added to the candidate’s KEAM 2018 score (which is calculated out of 500).
- The candidates would now be eligible for a maximum of 1000 marks.
