About IIST
IIST admission in B.Tech and Dual Degree programme is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced Score. Only those students are eligible to apply for IIST who qualify for JEE advanced and also appear in the exam. It is the first university in the world to offer the complete range of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral programmes with specific focus to space science, technology and applications.
IIST Financial Assistance Fee Structure
If the candidates join IIST for any undergraduate programme, then all the fees would be borne by the institute itself and the candidates do not need to pay any fee to the institute at the time of admission to IIST. The assistanceship expenses amount of fee provided to the candidates are given in the table below:

Each and every candidate will be provided with an additional book allowance of Rs.3,000, and this book allowance is not included in the fees given in the above table.
IIST Eligibility Criteria for Financial Assistanceship
The institute would continue the full assistanceship from the second semester onwards if the students secure minimum recommended Grade Point Average (GPA) in the previous semester. The financial assistanceship is provided to the candidates for the different category. The candidates need to secure category wise GPA which is described below:
For General and OBC Category
- The General and OBC candidates who secure a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 7.5 out of 10 in the previous semester will be provided with the full assitanceship from the second semester onwards for the current semester
- The candidates who score less than 7.5 GPA in the previous semester have to rescind to the Institute. All the above-notified fees are for the current semester.
For SC/ST and PD category
- The SC/ST and PwD candidates who secure a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.5 out of 10 in the previous semester will be provided with the full assistanceship from the second semester onwards for the current semester.
- The SC/ST and PD category students who secure a GPA of 5.5 and above, but less than 6.5 out of 10 in the previous semester have to remit all the above pre-notified fees except the Tuition fee for the current semester.
- The SC/ST and PD category students who secure a GPA of less than 5.5 out of 10 in the previous semester have to remit the entire pre-notified fees for the current semester.
