SRM Counselling 2018 - Dates, Call Letter, Status, Seat Availability

SRM Counselling 2018 dates have been announced by Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology. The counselling of SRM 2018 will begin on 7 May and end on 11 May. Candidates who have qualified SRMJEEE 2018  can report to the SRMJEEE counselling venue as per their rank. Aspirants must report to the counselling venue as per the schedule and ranks mentioned on this page for all the campuses of SRM University. Before reporting for SRM counselling 2018, aspirants should download their counselling call letter from the link provided below. SRM 2018 counselling procedure will be done on the basis of candidates merit rank, preferences of campuses as well as courses and seats available. The provisional allotment letter will only be issued after the payment of Rs. 2,10,000. Candidates can either pay the amount before coming for SRMJEEE counselling through E-pay facility or can also bring a demand draft drawn in favour of “SRMIST” payable at Chennai.  Aspirants must also carry the mandatory document along with them for verification after the payment of requisite amount. SRM counselling is to be conducted for admission to 15 B.Tech courses offered by six campuses located at – Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Ghaziabad, Amaravati and Sonipat. As per the press release of SRM, 172,285 students registered for SRMJEEE and out of them, 76,000 students have been called for counselling.

SRM Counselling Call Letter Download, Check Counselling Status

As mentioned earlier, before reporting on the counselling process, candidates must download the call letter.  The call letter and the rank card can be downloaded from the applicant's login panel. The counselling call letter is an invitation to attend the counselling and for verification of original certificates. Mere receipt of counselling call letter does not mean that candidate has been granted admission to the particular degree programme.

The admission of students to the preferred courses and colleges will be done on the basis of:

1. Fulfilling the minimum eligibility conditions set by the respective institutions
2. Rank position of candidates listed in SRMJEEE 2018
3. Furnish of all original certificates and documents listed for verification
4. Payment of registration and tuition fee

SRM Counselling Procedure for Allocation of Seats/Branch

• The desired applicants are required to download and take a printout of the SRM Counselling Call Letter. Candidates have to present physically at the counselling venue as per the counselling schedule. There is no online counselling.
• In no case, the change of date/ time of SRM Counselling will be permitted or entertained. If in case, the candidate does not personally turn up for the counselling, then their seat will be given to the next candidate in order of merit.
• Once the selected candidate has got confirmed seat and accepted the branch allotted then they have to pay the fees in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “SRMIST”, payable at Chennai.
• Candidates will be allowed to participate in the SRM counselling process only after verification of the documents. Authentic records pertaining to identification, age, mark sheet of the qualifying examination, community certificate (if applicable) and other eligibility criteria, will be checked. If a candidate fails to produce any of these documents, he/she will not be considered for SRM Counseling.

SRM Counselling Fee to be paid

During the counselling process, candidates have to pay the Rs. 2,10,000 as the tuition fee. Aspirants can pay it before coming for counselling using the E-pay facility. Else, they can also pay the amount through demand draft which must be drawn in favour of “SRMIST” payable at Chennai.

SRM Group of Institutions will offer up to 100% fee waiver to the students who have secured a good rank in SRMJEEE.

SRM Counselling 2018 Documents

Documents required at the time of SRM Counselling 2018 in Original for admission to UG Programs. The candidates are required to carry the below-mentioned documents in original along with one set of photocopies while reporting for counselling. No candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling process without these documents.

• Counselling call letter
• SRMJEEE rank card
• Admit Card of the qualifying examination
• Mark sheet of class 10 for proof of date of birth
• Mark sheet of class 12 or its equivalent (if the result is announced)
• Photo ID (PAN, Aadhaar Card, Passport)
• Cancelled cheque leaf with the name of Candidate/Parent/Grand Parent printed
• Receipt(s) for payment made through E-pay facility or demand draft

A candidate should decide for certain on whether he/she should join the program based on the branch allotted to him/her at the time of counselling before the payment of the fee. Allotment of branch once made is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances. Upon allotment, the candidate has to submit all the original documents and also pay the full tuition fee for the first year.
