Nirma University B.Design Admission 2018 has started and the candidates willing to seek admission in Design course are required to fill the application form on or before the due date. University is inviting applications for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Program offered in Industrial Design and Communication Design in the Department of Design for the academic session 2018-19. In Nirma University up to fifteen percent of intake is allocated for admission to NRI and NRI sponsored candidates. There are seven constituent institutes in the University offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD programs under various departments. Nirma University offers B.Design course in Industrial Design as well as in Communication Design. The seating capacity offered for these programmes are:

Academic Qualification:

• The candidate must have passed the HSC (10+2) examination with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Or any other recognised examination considered as equivalent by Nirma University.
• The candidates holding 10+3 Diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education or any other board/university as considered equivalent by Nirma University with minimum 50% aggregate marks will also be considered eligible.

The application process for the Nirma University B.Design course has started. The eligible candidates can fill the application form for the same by following the link given below. The process of filling up the form is completely online. There is no offline procedure. The last date to fill the Nirma University B.Design Application form is 31 December 2017. Hence, the candidates are suggested to fill their form on or before the due date.

• STEP 1 - (Registration): First of all the candidates need to register themselves by providing their valid email id. Candidates need to provide a valid email id because the further communication will be done through this email id only. By doing so, the candidates will receive the password to their registered email id
• STEP 2 - (Filling up the Application Form): The candidates need to login to their account using the login id (same as the email address) and password they received at the time of registration. After login, the candidates have to fill the form by providing their basic details.
• STEP 3 - (Upload Documents): After filling the necessary details, the candidates need to upload the required documents
• STEP 4 - (Payment): At last, the candidates need to pay the application fee to complete the application process. The application fee can be paid online by credit card/debit card /net banking.

Submission of the Application Form

The application form will be submitted in online mode only and the fee will also be paid online. There is no offline process for making the payment and submitting the form. Candidates need to take a print out of the confirmation page and keep it safe till the application process is over.

The candidates who filled the application form correctly are required to download the admit card to appear on the entrance test. The entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted on 28 January 2018. The application fee for the Nirma University B.Des course is given in the table below. The amount of fee is different for the Indian candidates and for the NRI & NRI sponsored candidates. The candidates belonging to the respective category should pay their application fee accordingly.

The result of the written test of Nirma University for B.Des admission will be declared after the exam. The candidates who appeared in the exam would be able to check the result. Right after the result, the selection process gets started.

The qualified candidates will be called for the personal interview round and portfolio review in Ahmedabad. The weight age of marks for the determination of merit for admission to the B. Des program will be as under:

• The applicants who will be qualified in the Entrance Test will be called for Personal Interview at Ahmadabad from 1 to 5 May 2018.
• At the time of portfolio review, portfolio in hard copy / digital copy will be looked at and evaluated. Candidates can have any creative work in their portfolio done by the student
• The creative work can include drawings, paintings, photographs, films/ Videos made by the student, craft work, project, models, written work such as articles, stories, essays, poems, etc. The portfolio should have only 15 works in total.

The candidates selected after the written test will appear in the interview. The candidates appearing in the interview need to bring the requisite documents at the time of interview. The list of documents to be brought by candidates in the interview are given below.

Candidates who will not be present at the scheduled time for written test/Personal Interview will lose their candidature and the authorities will not be responsible for it. The documents to be presented at the time of Interview:

• Class 10th Mark sheet
• Class 12th Mark sheet
• Transfer certificate
• Diploma examination mark sheer, if applicable
• Latest passport size photographs

• Resident sponsor proof (NRI sponsor candidates)
• His/her passport and parents’ passport (NRI applicant)
• Affidavit from sponsoring person
• Equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (for candidate who has passed qualifying examination from outside Delhi
• Passport of sponsoring person (Applicable to NRI sponsored applicants)
• Any other relevant certificate

Test Centres for Nirma University B.Design 2018 Entrance Test

The Entrance Test will be conducted by the Department of Design. All the eligible candidates need to appear for the written test. However, students who have passed their qualifying exam from outside India (pure NRI) are exempted from appearing the Entrance Test. The test centres for the entrance test are:
