Age: There is no age limit to apply for the B.Tech/M.Tech Dual Degree and B.Arch programme, however, applicants need to be eligible for the JEE Mains 2018 and must satisfy the age criteria of same to be eligible IIEST Admission.
Applicants have to appear in the JEE Main 2018 Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2 for the admission to the respective courses given below.

Academic Qualifications
Candidates seeking admission to the IIST Shibpur for Dual Degree BTech and BArch Programme must be a citizen of India.The candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in General or Vocational Stream of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with English and Physics or any one of the following subjects
The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination from the subjects given above and any other 5th subject with an aggregate of 45% (for General) and 40% (for other categories) or equivalent examination of a recognised Board or Institute in India.
There is no separate application process for IIEST. The candidates need to register themselves with Joint Seat Allocation Authority commonly known as JoSAA. IIEST Shibpur invites application on the basis of JEE Main.
So the candidates need to register with the JoSAA and the students who have secured JEE Main Rank in Paper 1 or Paper 2 or JEE Advanced are eligible for the JoSAA Counselling.
Candidates admitted to the IIEST Shibpur are required to pay the course fee after the admission as prescribed below in the table. If a candidate wants to opt for the hostel, he/she will have to pay the additional fee in favour of hostel charges and Mess charges which is also listed below.

The candidates will get selected for the IIEST B.Tech Admission on the basis of JEE Main Scores for both the courses i.e. Integrated BTech/MTech and B.Arch Course. The authority will prepare the merit list on the basis of marks scored by the candidates.
The shortlisted candidates will get admission in IIEST offered by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducted by CSAB through merit list and multiple rounds of allocation
The admission of the candidates will be done on the basis of JEE Main Scores. The JEE Main (The Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted by CBSE for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes.

The candidates should practice from the previous year question paper. Therefore by doing so, they will get the idea of the exam pattern.

The IIEST Shibpur also maintain its dignity and popularity in providing the right placement to the candidates. IIEST Shibpur also has a fully operational HRM department to look after the placement of the candidates.

The Institute offers a large number of scholarships to every meritorious and/or financially weak students. Currently, almost 30% of the students admitted to IIEST Shibpur are availing the benefits of the scholarship schemes. Full Scholarship for all students in the dual-degree courses will be available during 9th to 10th semester.
