VTUEEE 2018 - Vel Tech University Engineering Entrance Exam

VTUEEE 2018 is an All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by Veltech Dr RR & Dr. SR University located in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) for admission to B.Tech degree Programme through a common entrance exam and a single window counselling. VTUEEE shall be based on a common minimum syllabus drawn from syllabi taught in different State Boards in India. The candidate seeking admission in B.Tech or Engineering courses can apply for the admission. Application forms for VTUEEE 2018 are available online as well as offline.

VTUEEE 2018 Important Dates

Age Limit and Age Relaxation: Candidates who have not completed 25 years of age as on July 1 of the year in which admission is sought are eligible.

• For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Challenged (PC) category, age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years.
• The Authority of the University can grant age relaxation (up to six months) in some specific cases.

Academic Qualification: The candidates who seek admission to B.Tech Degree Programme should have either completed or appearing for, any one of the following examinations;

• The candidate must have passed Class 12 from CISCE Board, National Institute of Open School, CBSE Board or any State Board. Or,
• Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by any recognised Board/University, High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or equivalent.
• Those appearing in Class 12 final or equivalent examination in March/April/May 2018 can apply and appear for VTUEEE 2018.

VTUEEE Application forms are available and can be filled in both online as well as offline mode.  The candidates who wish to apply for B.Tech in Veltech University have to apply on or before 15 January 2018 (for Phase 1).

• Online Application Form: Candidate can visit www.veltechuniv.edu.in to apply online. Application fee can be paid through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / Paytm wallet.
• Offline Application Form: For offline registration send the Demand draft for Rs.950 drawn in favour of “Veltech Dr RR & Dr.SR University”, payable at Chennai, to The Director - UG Admission along with a requisition letter containing the full address of the applicant.

Online Mode: Candidates applying online are required to retain a photocopy of the illed-in form, and a copy of mode of remittance of Application-cum-Examination Fees. 

Offline Mode: For offline registration send the Demand draft for Rs.950 drawn in favour of “Veltech Dr RR & Dr.SR University”, payable at Chennai, to The Director - UG Admission along with a requisition letter containing the full address of the applicant.

The admit card for the Vel Tech University Engineering ENtrance Exam will be available in online mode. The candidates are required to download their admit card by following the link given below in the link. The admit cards are mandatorily required in the examination hall on the test dates.

Veltech University offers admission in two phases that is Phase 1 and Phase 2. Annual Fee is slightly lower for the students who take admission in the Phase 1 admission cycle. The total engineering fee for four years will cost roughly Rs. 6 Lacs to 7 Lacs depending on the course. All candidates who appear for the VTUEEE 2018 dated 21^st January 2018 shall avail the benefit of 2017 Fee Structure.

VTUEEE Result for Phase-1 will be declared on 15 February 2018 and the same for Phase 2 will be declared on 30 April 2018 in the form of the Merit list. VTUEEE Merit List will be prepared on the basis of total marks secured in the VTUEEE 2018 Entrance Exam.

• There is no provision to send the marks of the candidates (selected or unselected) by post.
• At the time of publication of the results, the rank will be intimated through email, if the email of the applicant is provided.
• There is no provision for re-grading or re-totalling.
• No photocopies of the answer sheets will be made available. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Vel tech B.Tech Counselling

Counselling for branch allocation will be held at the university campus, Chennai for the shortlisted candidates based on their ranks in the VTUEEE 2018.

Documents to be produced at the time of Counselling

• Class 10 or Class 12 Board Certificate as a proof of date of birth
• Marks Sheet of Qualifying Examination (+2 or Equivalent) (if Available)
• Counselling for branch allocation for the shortlisted candidates based on their ranks in the VTUEEE 2018 will be held at the University campus, Chennai
• Demand draft (Non-Refundable) for " Rs. 24000 Drawn in favour of "Veltech Dr. RR & Dr.SR University" payable at Chennai as a partial payment of tuition fees

VTUEEE 2018 will be based on Bloom’s Taxonomy Pattern. There will be one tier and two tier Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) that will examine subject's knowledge, comprehension, and critical analysis abilities. All questions are multiple choice type

• Duration of exam: 2 ½ hours
• Mode of Exam: Paper & Pencil Test (PPT) Computer Based Test (CPT)
• Marking: Each question shall carry one mark
• Negative Marking: There shall be no penalty for the wrong answer. 

Tier 1: The first tier of the question usually pertains to a knowledge statement while the second element of the question facilitates the testing of the students learning beyond recall and into the higher levels of think. 

Tier 2: Two-Tier MCQs are similar in format to traditional MCQs but as the name suggests, they contain a second tier of questioning associated with the main question The aim of the second tier is to promote higher thinking and reasoning skills among students.

VTUEEE Syllabus 2018

Candidates can avail scholarship calculated based on PCM (or) BPC Aggregate / VTUEEE 2018 ranking whichever is higher. There are more than 300 Scholarships and grants available to the University students ranging from four years 100% Scholarships for tuition, board & lodging to 10% Concession in tuition fees. The award of the scholarship will distribute on the basis of “First Come First Served”.

Veltech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship 2018

• Top ranking candidate from each State and each Union Territory can avail 100% Scholarship in B.Tech course. They must have secured a minimum of 75% average on the sum of the marks scored in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry in +2 examinations in their respective State / Central Higher Secondary Board Examinations.
• Top 20 Rank holders will get 75% scholarship in Tuition Fee, Students who score between Rank 21 to 500 will be eligible for 50% scholarship in Tuition Fee.
• Top 50 Candidates who have secured 95% to 100% in aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in +2 examinations in their respective State / Central Higher Secondary Board Examinations can avail 75% Scholarships in B.Tech course
• Top 100 Candidates who have secured 90% and above but below 95% in aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry +2 examinations in their respective State / Central Higher Secondary Board Examinations can avail 50% Scholarships in B.Tech course (also for Under Scheme Partnership)
• Top 100 Candidates who have secured 70% and above but below 90% in aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in +2 examinations can avail 10% Scholarships in B.Tech course

VTUEEE Test Centers

Vel Tech University Chennai will conduct the Engineering Entrance Exam in 87 cities in India. The final test centre allotted to the student will be available on the admit card issued by the university just before the exam.

Veltech University B.Tech Reservation

Reservation for SC / ST / OBC and Physically Challenged candidates will be applicable as per the rules of Government of India for the time being.
