Age: Candidates must be of the age 18 years to 22 years i.e. he should be born on 1 August 1996 to 31 July 2000. 5 years relaxation for SC/ ST candidates and 3 Years relaxation to the OBC candidates.
Educational Qualification:
Non Eligibility- Candidates from the open school of learning not recognised by the government are not eligible to apply.

To ease the process of the application form filling, the candidates are provided with the steps to fill the Indian Coast Guard Yantrik 02/ 2018. Hence, the candidates are suggested to follow the instructions and fill the form accordingly.
STEP 1: Follow the given link, read the instruction panel carefully and select the post you want to apply from, Yantrik Technical (Mechanical), Yantrik Technical (Electrical), Yantrik Technical (Electronics). The candidate has to then click on the “I Agree” button to continue to fill the application form.
STEP 2: Fill up the application form giving the required details. (Kindly note that all information given by the applicant must be correct as per their original documents).
STEP 3: Give a valid Email ID and Phone number where the details of the examination and centre will be intimated for the candidate.
STEP 4: Candidate has to choose their nearest test centres from the list given, Only one choice will be available to be selected by the candidates.
STEP 5: After completing the application form candidates have to recheck the information they have entered before submitting the information else their candidature will be cancelled by the authorities.
STEP 6: At last, the candidates have to click on "Submit" button.
After the successful submission of the application form, the candidates would be allotted a unique registration number which will be required to download the admit card. The admit card can only be downloaded online. Admit card will hold the name of the candidates, venue of the examination, date of the examination etc which should be examined by the candidates. The admit cards is available candidates can take the printout of the e - admit card till 7 February 2018.

Indian Coast Guard recruitment for Yantrik will be purely merit-based only, the candidates qualifying to the written test will have to undergo various other selection processes. The detailed selection procedure is given below.
The physical fitness test will be only conducted for those candidates who have cleared their written test, The given following standards must be passed by the applicants during their PFT.
Candidates based upon their results in the Written test and PFT( Physical Fitness Test) will undergo the Medical Test in a ratio which is to be selected by Indian coast Guard Board.
A medical test will be conducted by the authorized military doctors. Medical standards that applicants have to pass are given below.
The candidates will be provisionally declared fit but the final physical test will be conducted at INS Chilka. If such candidates fail the physical test at INS Chilka will not be enrolled in the training.
Basic Training for the Indian Coast Guard Yantrik Batch 02/2018 will commence from August 2018. Yantriks are liable to be discharged from the training session based on their performance during the training period.
Note: SC/ST candidates not employed in the Central/State government will be given the allowance of 2nd class fare by train/ govt. Bus/steamer charges as per government rules if the shortest route from their home to the place of examination is beyond 30 Km.

Dearness allowance and other allowances will be based on nature of duty/place of posting as per the regulation enforced time to time.
Candidates should keep in mind that promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Pradhan Sahayak Engineer. Promotion to the next rank and officer cadre is subject to suitability and performance.

There will be an objective type written test to be conducted by Indian coast Guard Board. The written test will include the questions from the respective field of the candidates i.e. Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics and Telecommunication, along with the questions based on the General knowledge, Aptitude, Reasoning and English. Candidates who have qualified the entrance test will undergo the Physical Fitness Test.
Documents to be carried on Exam Day
Original along with Photocopies of all the documents (duly attested by the government authority) given below are to be provided at the test centre on the dayofwritten test. Candidates without having the prescribed documents not be allowed to give the examination.
