NID 2019 Application Form is expected to release from the third week of September 2018. National Institute of Design conducts an entrance examination named DAT (Design Aptitude Test) every year for the admission into the design courses offered by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. NID Offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des. 4 years) course at NID Ahmedabad. This page gives the detail regarding the NID 2019 admission.
Students after Class 12 or equivalent like AISSCE/ IB/ ISC are eligible to apply for the B.Design Course which is a 4 years course. M.Design is a 2.5 years course. NID Admission will be done on the basis of the two-stage competitive exam as follows:

National Institute of Design starts the window to submit the rechecking request of NID DAT B.Des/ GDPD Mains exam. The candidates who appeared in the mains exam are given the opportunity to submit the request of rechecking if they have any confusion regarding the exam. In order to submit the request, the candidates have to provide their Email Id, DOB, Roll number and verification code. The link to submit the request of NID DAT BDes/ GDPD mains exam will be provided on this page once it is available.

NID Ahmedabad is an Institute of National Importance under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and has gained international acclaim for its finest educational system. NID was established in 1961 and was declared as an Institute of National Importance in 2014.

To get admission into design courses at NID, candidates need to give an entrance exam known as Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted annually by NID Ahmedabad. Before proceeding further for the admission, the candidates are suggested to ensure their eligibility. The age limitation and education qualification required for admission into B.Design and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) is given below.

Education Qualification
The NID application process for the admission into B.Des and GDPD is expected to start from the Fourth week of September 2018. The candidates who want to get admission in the NID to pursue B.Des, M.Des and GDPD will have to fill the application form. The candidates will be able to fill the application online only. Candidates are suggested to follow the link below to fill the NID Application Form.
NID 2019 Admit Card is expected to be available from the third week of December 2018. The admit card is a very important document and without it, the candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam. The candidates have to download the admit card and bring it on the day of the NID exam. The link to download the admit card is given below, the candidates would be able to download the admit card by entering the Email id and Password.
NID Application Fee is different for all the categories. The candidates belonging to the respective categories must pay their application fee. The fee has to be paid through online mode only that is Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.

After conducting the DAT Prelim exam, the candidates are shortlisted to appear into the DAT Mains. The weightage of both, DAT Prelims and DAT Mains will decide the admission of the candidates into NID. The result of the DAT prelim will be declared in the second week of March 2019 and the final list will be declared by National Institute of Design (NID) in the last week of May 2019.

There are two phases of getting selection into the National Institute of Design (NID). The two of the phases are given below.
First phase: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims
Second phase: Design Aptitude test (DAT) Mains
Reservation:15% of seats of B.Design will be reserved for overseas students.

Successful candidates admitted to NID’s B.Des. the programme will have to undergo a mandatory foundation programme of one (1) year duration.
NID Design Aptitude Test will be conducted in multiple centres across India. The exam is scheduled to be conducted in the 23 cities across multiple centres and the candidates can give the preference of the test centres while filling up the application. The final allotment of the test centre will be written on the admit card.
