Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2018 in Bachelor of Design

Symbiosis Institute of Design offers admission in B.Design on the basis of SEED. It is an entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design. Through this entrance test, the eligible candidates in the undergraduate designing programme of SID. It is to be known by the candidates that until the last year, the admission to B.Design was done based on SET. However, from now onwards, there is separate exam is conducted that is SEED. Earlier, the Symbiosis Institute of Technology used to conduct SET Design for the admission in B.Design course in Symbiosis Institute of Design. But from now onwards, the name of the test has been changed to SEED.

About Symbiosis Institute of Design

Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) is an undergraduate design college based in Pune, India. It offers Bachelor of Design degrees in the fields of communication design, fashion design, fashion communication and industrial design. It helps in promoting international understanding through quality education.

Academic Qualifications:

The candidates are advised to ensure that they fulfil the requirement of eligibility criteria before applying. The candidates applying for the admission in Symbiosis Institute of Design must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 from any stream i.e Science, Commerce, Arts, etc. or equivalent
• The candidates who have 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination are eligible to apply for B.Design programme.
• Candidates appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply in a condition that the results of the examination they are appearing should have been declared by June of the admission year.
• The following candidates will be given preference in admission to the B.Design programme:
  • The candidates with creative aptitude and skills necessary to pursue Design Education.
  • The candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

SEED Admit Card 2018

SEED Admit Card for the entrance test scheduled to be conducted on 5 May 2018 will be available to download from 21 April 2018. The candidates appearing in SEED Entrance Exam must download the admit card in order to appear in the exam. Candidates need to know that no admit card will be dispatched through the post to the candidates, so no correspondence in this regard will be considered.

Candidates must bring the admit card and a photo identity proof to the test centre. It will be authenticated during the Test. Candidates shall preserve the authenticated admit card till the admission processes of the desired Symbiosis institutes are over.

Entrance Test Fee: The candidates have to pay the entrance test fee for each test. The entrance test fee is Rs.1,750 for each test. However, the candidates if registering for more than one course would be required to pay accordingly.

The annual course fee of B.Design payable against Annual Academic Fees, Security Deposits and Library Deposits are given in the table below:

SEED Result 2018 will be declared on 14 May 2018. Only the candidates who are appearing in the exam will be able to check the result. After checking the result, it is also mandatory for the candidates to fill the online registration for the individual Institutes for the desired programme before the closing date of application of the respective Institute. By following the link, the candidates will get the complete information about SEED Result

Symbiosis Insitute of Design (B.Design) Selection Process

Once the result gets declared, the shortlisted candidates will be called for PI-WAT. The selection of the candidates for Symbiosis Institute of Design for B.Design Programme will be done on the basis of SEED score. The shortlisted candidates will be further selected for PI-WAT. The selection process for SID B.Design programme is given below:

Symbiosis Institute of Design (B.Design) PI and WAT 2018 Dates

SET for Design is a design aptitude test examining colour, geometry, visual observations, creative thinking abilities, general design awareness, awareness of Indian culture, craft and traditions, etc.

• Duration of exam: 150 minutes  
• Type of Questions: Objective type question paper.
• Marking Scheme: Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate
• Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
