CUSAT CAT 2018 Admission in UG and PG Courses- Result Declared

CUSAT CAT 2018 is an entrance exam for admission to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). It is a computer-based exam which will be conducted on 28 and 29 April 2018. CUSAT CAT provides admission to eligible candidates in various undergraduate & postgraduate programmes (other than MPhil & MTech) on the basis of CAT Rank. The application process will start on 7 February 2018.

CUSAT CAT exam is for the students of Kerala origin who satisfy the domicile requirements as given below in the eligibility section but there are also some all India seats. Out of the total approved self-financing seats for B.Tech Programme, 40% seats are earmarked as All India Merit seats, and both Keralites and Non- Keralites are eligible for admission. Domicile Criteria

Who is classified as a Keralite for the purpose of appearing in CAT?

• He/she or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR
• He/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR
• He/she has undergone his/ her school studies from class 8 - class 12 in an Education Institution(s) in Kerala
• Children of AIS (All India Services) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala Circle are deemed to be Keralites.

Students from outside Kerala are eligible to appear in CUSAT CAT 2018 and can opt for All India Quota Seats (AIQ) or All India Merit Seats.

All India Quota Seats in CUSAT: For B.Tech admission in following courses 10% seats are reserved for students on all India basis and remaining 90% seats for Keralites. These are the seats with regular fee

CUSAT CAT 2018 Application Form

The candidates willing to appear in CUSAT CAT 2018 can pay the application fee from both online and offline mode. The application fee and the course fee is mentioned in following tables.

 Candidates applying for both the B.Tech program & Lateral Entry

Candidates having both Plus-Two and three-year Diploma qualifications and intending to apply for both regular B.Tech programmes and Lateral Entry to B Tech Programmes are required to submit separate applications.

Application Fee Payment

• Online: Candidates can pay for CUSAT CAT 2018 Application form online via internet banking at SBI or SBT only.
• Offline: They can also make payment via bank e-challan which is to be paid in cash at State Bank of India or State Bank of Travancore.
  

CUSAT CAT Fee Structure 2018

Children of Gulf Workers: The tuition fee shall be US$3000 per year, payable at the beginning of the academic year.

CUSAT Fee for International Candidates

The students need to score Minimum of ten marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in CUSAT CAT 2018 to be eligible to figure in the respective rank list. The minimum marks requirement is not applicable to candidates under SC/ST.

CUSAT CAT Marking and Scoring: The CAT score will be calculated as per the formula, S = 3R - 1W, where S is the CAT score, R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.

CUSAT CAT 2018 Result

Relaxation in Marks: SEBC (Socially & Economically Backward): Marks relaxation by 5% in all courses except in B.Tech in Marine Engineering. No relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates.

Foreign Nationals /PIO /Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries

• They are not required to take CUSAT CAT 2018. They can apply either on self-financing basis or
• Through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) attached to the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. 

CUSAT CAT Counselling 2018

CUSAT CAT 2018 Question paper will comprise 250 objective type multiple choice questions based on class 12 syllabus. The duration of the test will be three hours and the maximum marks will be 750. For each right answer 3 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. There is negative marking in CUSAT CAT 2018

*Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Adoor (Pathanamthitta), Thodupuzha (Idukki), Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kalpetta (Wayanad) and Kasaragod

If the sufficient number of candidates are not there in Dubai Centre they will have to appear for the exam in Ernakulam
