National School of Drama (NSD) is inviting applications for three years Diploma course in Dramatic Arts (DDA) which is a full-time residential course in Drama that trains the individual in the area of acting, design and other theatre-related disciplines. NSD is one of the leading training institutes in dramatic arts in the world and one of its kind in India. It is an autonomous body. According to the NSD, they are likely to select a total of twenty-six students for the admission to the Diploma in Dramatic Arts programme which is a full-time course. The candidates can apply from both the medium i.e. Online and Offline. - The candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised University in India or abroad.
- The candidates should participate in at least 6 theatre productions to get admission in the NSD Diploma in the Dramatic Arts programme.
- Candidates must have working knowledge of English and Hindi to apply for the admission in the Diploma in Dramatic Arts programme for the full-time course
- The candidates should be minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years old on 1 July 2018. However, the age limit is relaxed by 5 years for candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category.

The last date to apply for the Diploma in the Dramatic Arts programme is16 April 2018. There are four ways in which the candidates can apply for such programme. The four ways to apply is given below. Candidates have to choose any one of the ways out of four to apply for the admission to National School of Drama. Applicants must note that the last date for the submission of the application form is 16 April 2018. NSD Application form filled and submitted in all the modes must reach the National School of Drama, New Delhi before the due date.

- Purchase Application Form on Cash Payment: Application form can also be purchased from the Book Shop of the National School of Drama on cash payment of Rs. 150 between 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on working days. Payment of the application form is ti be made by cash.
- Obtain Application Form by Post: Candidates can also obtain the application form and NSD prospectus ti their home through post by sending a request to "The Dean, Academic, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi 110001" along with a crossed Demand Draft/ Pay Order of Rs. 225 including postal charges payable at Delhi in favour of The Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Submission of Application Form
The candidates after filling up the application form need to submit the application form. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that the information filled by them in the application form is correct in all aspect. The filled in application once submitted can not be retained back. So the candidates won't be able to do the correction after submission. That is why they need to be more cautious while filling the application form.
For Online Application: The candidates who have opted for the application form can submit the application form in online mode only including the documents. National School of Drama Selection Process
The selection of the candidates is carried out in two stages. The list of the centres where the selection will be held at the following centre. The selection process will be held in two stages mentioned below. All the selected candidates of National School of Drama will be eligible to avail the scholarship of Rs 8000 monthly to meet their academic and related expenses.
- Preliminary Screening: The first stage of the selection is the preliminary screening which will be held at the centres given below.
- Final Round: The candidates get shortlisted in the preliminary screening test will be called for the final round in the form of a four to five-day workshop which will be held in New Delhi fro 10 to 14 June for which the candidates will be paid DA

- To make the selection process broad- based, it is ensured that selected candidates represent as many states and union territories as possible.
- Preference may be given to applicants from the families traditionally belonging to the performing arts.
- The list of the centres and the dates when the preliminary test or the final workshop will be held. The candidates are required to check the table below.
- Candidates called for the final round of the selection will be paid TA/ DA from their hometown to the place of the interview in Delhi and back by the shortest. They will be given accommodation in the School or Hostel.
