IIT Kanpur has started the JEE Advanced Registration 2018 for foreign candidates from 18 April 2018. The foreign applicants can directly register online for JEE Advanced without appearing in JEE Main. Only foreign candidates who fulfil the set eligibility can participate in JEE Advanced exam for IIT admission. The registration for JEE Advanced closes on 7 May 2018. JEE Advanced registration 2018 for foreign nationals can be submitted in 4 steps – registration, filling of application form, uploading of certificates and payment of requisite fee. Who is treated as Foreign Nationals for JEE Advanced 2018?
Candidates who are not citizens of India by birth, who are not part of OCI/PIO category, and whose parents are not citizens of India and do not come under OCI/PIO category at the time of JEE Advanced registration are treated as foreign nationals. 10% supernumerary seats in every course at IIT is reserved for foreign nationals.
JEE Advanced Exam Centres for Foreign Nationals - Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore.
If the candidate is also registering for Architecture Aptitude Test then they have to come to India for appearing in the architecture exam conducted by IITs.
JEE Advanced 2018 is to be conducted on 20 May 2018, for admission to 23 IITs located across the country. From JEE Main, the top 2,24,000 candidates will be eligible to participate for JEE Advanced. The exam will be conducted in the computer-based mode in 155 centres across the nation and 6 outside India. The foreign candidates will appear for JEE Advanced on the same day.

While filling the application form, aspirants must keep the scanned images following documents ready and as per the specifications mentioned in the brochure.

To perform the online registration for JEE Advanced 2018, follow the step-wise procedure mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration: The link for registration to JEE Advanced 2018 is available on JEE Advanced Candidate Portal.Candidates can use the link for JEE Advanced online registration. In order to register, follow the steps as provided.
- As soon as candidates will click on the link, the important instructions page will pop-up. It is mandatory to read all the instructions carefully to avoid any mistakes.
- Thereafter, scroll down and click (√) on the confirmation.

Step 2: Filling of JEE Advanced online registration form: Once the registration part is over, aspirants will be redirected to the ‘home page’. A link ‘Foreign Candidates Direct Registration’ will appear on the top of the page. Click on the link for filling the application form. In this process, the details which must be submitted are as follows:

After that, if all the details mentioned above are correct as per candidate’s knowledge, they must click on ‘I Agree’ and ‘save and next’ for next step.
The review page will appear on the screen. If there is any mistake, applicants can modify it. Later, after the submission of online registration form, no modification can be done.
Step 3: JEE Advanced Registration: uploading of scanned images: Once the details are verified, the scanned images of the below-mentioned document/certificate must be uploaded as per the specifications.

Step 4: Payment of JEE Advanced 2018 registration fee: For submission of application form, the fee must be paid by the aspirants. The admit card of JEE Advanced will be issued to those candidates who will successfully pay the registration fee. The payment of requisite amount can be paid in the following mode.

Online mode – The online payment can be done by credit/debit cards or Internet banking. Click on ‘pay registration fee’ and candidates will be directed to SBI Multi Option Payment System (MOPS). Aspirants can select any online mode of payment and pay the amount. Once the payment is done, the registration details with ‘Unique Registration Number’ will be available which must be printed.
Offline mode – The offline payment can be done through cash using SBI branch option. Click on the link ‘pay registration fee’ In case of cash payment, select ‘SBI branch’ and the e-challan will be generated to the candidates. Take a printout of generated E-challan and take it to the SBI bank for payment of the fee. After the payment is successfully done, download the registration details along with the ‘Unique number’ mentioned in it.
How to reset the password for JEE Advanced registration
If any candidate forgets their password to log-in, no need to worry. Follow the simple procedure below to retrieve it.
You can reset your password by:
- Using security question and its answers; this was filled while filling the application form.
- A verification code can be sent through SMS to the registered mobile number.
- Using reset link button which will be sent to the registered email ID
Last Year JEE Advanced registration statistics
Last year, the IITs attempted to spread a more global look, which was not as successful as the engineering institutes expected it to be. Though 11,000 seats were pledged for overseas candidates. Just 222 aspirants from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Singapore, Ethiopia and Dubai took the entrance test.
