ICSE English syllabus for Class 10
Given below is a descriptive list of the syllabus of all the subjects ICSE English Syllabus for Class 10
There will be two papers in English i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2 and each of the papers will be of two hours duration.
- Paper 1: English Language (80 Marks) Internal Assessment (20 Marks)
- Paper 2: Literature in English (80 Marks) Internal Assessment (20 Marks)

ICSE Class 10 Syllabus - Second Language
The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) has introduced the Second language so that the students can acquire knowledge of the elements of the language.
ICSE Indian Languages Syllabus for Class 10
Indian languages papers will be set in the following languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Khasi, Lepcha, Marathi, Malayalam, Mizo, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Tangkhul, Telugu, Urdu or any other language of an Indian community approved by the Council.
There will be one paper of three hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section A and Section B.
- Section A: Language 40 marks
- Section B: Prescribed Texts 40 marks
ICSE Sanskrit Syllabus for Class 10
According to the ICSE Syllabus Class 10 for Sanskrit, there will be one paper of three hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The question paper will be divided into two sections, Section A and Section B.
- Section A: Language 40 marks
- Section B: Prescribed Texts 40 marks
ICSE Class 10 Syllabus - History and Civics
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and an Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two parts, Part I and Part II.
- Part I (30 marks) will contain short answer questions set from the entire syllabus. Candidates will be required to answer all questions.
- Part II (50 marks) will consist of Section A and Section B. Candidates will be required to answer two out of three questions from Section A and three out of five questions from Section B. The sections will correspond to the sections indicated in the syllabus.
ICSE Geography Syllabus for Class 10
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The question paper will consist of Part I and Part II.
- Part I (compulsory) will consist of two questions. Question 1 will consist of short answer questions from the entire syllabus and Question 2 will consist of a question based on Map. Candidates will be expected to answer all questions.
- Part II. Candidates will be required to choose any five questions.
ICSE Mathematics Syllabus for Class 10
There has been a notice issued by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations regarding the change in ICSE Class 10 syllabus of Mathematics. As per the notice, the topic of VAT has been replaced by GST in the ICSE 2020 Syllabus and also won't be tested in ICSE 2019 Mathematics Examination Exam. A screenshot of the same has been provided below. As per the ICSE Class 10 Syllabus, there will be one paper of two and a half hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks), Section II (40 marks).
- Section I: will consist of compulsory short answer questions.
- Section II: Candidates will be required to answer four out of seven questions.
ICSE Physics Syllabus for class 10
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of practical work carrying 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks) and Section II (40 marks).
- Section I (compulsory) will contain short answer questions on the entire syllabus.
- Section II will contain six questions. Candidates will be required to answer any four of these six questions.
ICSE Chemistry Syllabus for class 10
There will be one paper of two and a half hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks), Section II (40 marks)

ICSE Economics Syllabus for class 10
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections A and B.

- Section B will consist of questions, which will require detailed answers. There will be a choice and candidates will be required to answer four questions from this section.
ICSE Computer Science Syllabus for class 10
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 Marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks in Computer Science as per ICSE Syllabus for Class 10. The paper will be divided into two Sections A and B.
- Section A (20 marks): This section will consist of compulsory short answer questions, testing knowledge, application and skills relating to elementary/fundamental aspects of the entire syllabus.
- Section B (60 marks): This section will consist of questions based on programming. There will be a choice of questions and candidates will be required to answer four questions from this section.
ICSE Class 10 Syllabus Commercial Studies
There will be one written paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections A and B.
- Section A will consist of questions requiring short answers and will cover the entire syllabus.
- Section B will consist of questions, which will require detailed answers. There will be a choice and candidates will be required to answer four questions from this section.
ICSE Class 10 Syllabus Technical Drawing
There will be one written paper of three hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, A and B.
- Section A will consist of a number of questions covering the entire syllabus. The candidates are to attempt three questions.
- Section B will consist of questions which will require detailed answers. There will be a choice and candidates will be required to answer two questions from this section.
ICSE class 10 Syllabus Classical Language
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will consist of the following tests:
- Question on elementary Sanskrit grammar.
- Unprepared translation from English into Sanskrit consisting of short prose sentences.
- Unprepared translation from Sanskrit into English.
ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Environmental Science
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will have two Sections:
- Section A will contain short answer questions covering the entire syllabus.

There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 100 marks and Internal Assessment of 100 marks. The paper will be divided into two Sections, A and B.

ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Fashion Designing

Physical education is a subject that is added to the ICSE Class 10 Syllabus to create awareness of the necessity for vigour and efficiency through physical fitness. It helps in developing knowledge and understanding of the requirements for healthy living, nutrition, exercise and relaxation. There will be one written paper of two hours duration carrying 100 marks and Internal Assessment of 100 marks.
ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Yoga
According to ICSE Class 10 Syllabus, there will be two paper on the Yoga subject. The paper I (Theory) will be of 2 hours duration carrying 100 marks. The paper will be divided into four sections as follows:
- Section I: 40 marks
- Section II: 20 marks
- Section III: 20 marks
- Section IV: 20 marks
Section I will be compulsory. Candidates will be required to attempt all the questions from this section. There will be no choice of questions. Sections II, III and IV will have a choice of questions. Candidates will be required to attempt two questions from each section.
ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Technical Drawing Applications
As per the ICSE Class 10 Syllabus. There will be one written paper of three hours duration carrying 100 marks and Internal Assessment of 100 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I and Section II
- Section I (40 marks) shall consist of compulsory short answer questions chosen from the entire syllabus.
- Section II (60 marks) shall contain questions which require longer answers. There will be a choice of questions.
ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Environmental Applications
There will be one written paper of two hours duration carrying 100 marks and Internal Assessment of 100 marks of Environmental Applications as per the ICSE Class 10 Syllabus. The paper will have two Sections:
- Section A (Compulsory) will contain short answer questions covering the entire syllabus.
- Section B will consist of questions, which will require detailed answers. There will be a choice of questions in this section.
ICSE Syllabus for class 10 Modern Foreign Language - Group III
Modern Foreign Language has also been inserted in ICSE Class 10 Syllabus. There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 100 marks and Internal Assessment of 100 marks.
ICSE Class 10 Syllabus - SUPW and Community Service
SUPW and Community Service have been included in ICSE Class 10 Syllabus. An emphasis should be placed on work practice and classroom discussions in these classes. A component of Contemporary Studies may be correlated with Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW).
Work practice will include one main craft or equivalent service and at least one subsidiary craft or equivalent service.
