About Wildlife Artist of the year 2018
Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 is being organized by The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF). The competition is open for worldwide participation and there is no restriction on the level of proficiency of the artist. The only restraining criterion is age as the candidate needs to be at least 17 years old to participate in the contest. Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 will accept entries under the following seven categories:
- Animal Behaviour
- Urban Wildlife
- Hidden World
- Wings, Feathered or Otherwise
- Into the Blue
- Vanishing Fast
- Earth’s Beautiful Creatures
The Overall Winners of the contest will get the title of Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 and cash prize worth £10,000 (Approx. INR 10 lakh). The last date to complete the application process of Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 is 12 February 2018.

Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 Reward
Out of the participants, One Overall winner and one Overall Runner-up will be selected. The details of the prize are as follow:
- Overall Winner: The candidate selected as the overall winner will get a cash prize of £10,000 (Approx. INR 10 lakh) along with the title of ‘‘Wildlife Artist of the Year 2018.
- Runner-Up: Overall Runner-up will get cash prize worth £1,000 (Approx. INR 1Lakh)
- Category Winners: The category winners will get cash prizes worth £500 (Approx. INR 50,000).
- Ceremony: Exhibition and Prize giving will be done at the Mall Galleries, London SW1 between 2nd May – 6th May (Private Preview 1st May).
Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 Application form and Process
The application of Wildlife Artist of the year 2018, can be made online as well as offline. In both the modes, the applications will be considered complete only after receipt of the Entry Fee. Candidates can click on the following link to fill the application form.

Specifications of Artwork: The artwork to be submitted needs to be as per the following specifications. The artwork should belong to any of the following 7 categories:
- Animal Behaviour
- Urban Wildlife
- Hidden World
- Wings, Feathered or Otherwise
- Into the Blue
- Vanishing Fast
- Earth’s Beautiful Creatures
Age of the Artwork: The artwork needs to be completed within last 5 years. Artwork created prior to that time is not allowed to be a part of the contest.
Entry Fee: Participants are allowed to enter up to 5 artworks for the competition but they need to pay an entry fee for all of them separately. The general entry fee is £25 per entry while for DSWF members, young people (17-25) and Artists having age above 60 years, the entry fee is £10 per entry. The Entry fee can be paid by credit card or Cheque.
Online Entry: Online entries can be submitted by filling the application form available on the website. All the details related to the artwork and the artists are to be filled in the relevant boxes.
Specification of files to be uploaded:
- Format: Jpeg
- Size: 6MB maximum
- Naming: Surname + title of artwork. Jpeg, Example: Smithlions.jpeg
Offline Entry: In the case of offline participation, participants can send images of their artwork on a CD along with a cheque payable to DSWF. The photographs of the artwork will be accepted but will be scanned which may result in deteriorated.

The candidates can participate in the competition through online mode on the official website. After completing the application form, the participants have to send it via post. The entries are to be submitted by post to the address given below:

Wildlife Artist of the year 2018 Selection Process
- The selection of the artwork will be done by an independent panel of judges, which include artists and conservationists, in three stages.
- All participants will be notified about the decision of the judges and only the entries selected will have to complete and return an Exhibition Agreement.
