About The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS)
The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS) is invited to the Graduate students aspiring to pursue their Master’s study in Sweden. The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS) is funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and administered by The Swedish Institute.
Scholarship Benefits: The SISS will cover total Tuition Fee expenses for the total master’s program duration, along with that grants will be offered to cover living expenses, airfare and other expenses.
Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS) Online Application filling is divided into 2 Steps and the applications for Step 1 will be accepted online till 16 January 2017.

Details | Nationality: The applications are open for students from India. Qualification: The candidates are required to full fill all the eligibility conditions for the academic course for which they are making an application. Experience: The applicant should have a minimum of two years of working experience of from paid or unpaid internship, voluntary work, a position of trust and full/part time employment. Personal Traits: The candidate should display Leadership Experience, ambition to work for the sustainable development of the country. |
The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS) Reward
The candidates receiving The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship are not encouraged to bring along their family members as no additional grant will be given to the family members. The details of the rewards are:
- Scholarship Duration: The scholarship will be given for the duration of the Master’s Program. It’ll be granted for one academic year at a time and will be extended if student pass all his/her courses/credits.
- Tuition Fee: The complete tuition fee of the candidate will be paid directly to the Swedish university/university college by the Swedish Institute.
- Monthly Stipend: Candidates will be eligible for a monthly stipend of SEK 9,000 (Approx. INR 70,000).
- Travel Grant: The candidates from India will be eligible for a travel grant of SEK 15,000 (Approx. INR 1 lakh).
- Insurance: For the complete study period, candidates are insured against accident & illness by Swedish State Group Insurance and Personal Insurance.
- Membership: All the scholarship recipients will become a member of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders (NFGL), which will provide them with exclusive opportunities while their stay in Sweden.
The Swedish Institute Study Scholarship (SISS) Application form and Process
Online applications from candidates will be accepted only if they have made application and paid the university admissions application fee for admission to Master’s Program as per University Admission process. The details related to the Scholarship application process are:
Application Form: The application process is divided into 2 Stages. Candidates can make online application after registering for the Stage 1 and the shortlisted candidates will be informed via email to apply for Stage 2.

Documents Required: For completing the Stage 1 of the application process, no documents are required, while the following documents are required in order to complete the Stage 2 of the application process:
- Motivation Letters: Letter of Motivation in the specific format provided by SI needs to be prepared. Candidates need to be specific and personal in their reasoning.
- Curriculum Vitae: ACV in English and in European format is to be uploaded to complete the application process.
- Two References: At least one of the references needs to be related to the work experience mentioned while making applications.
- Unsigned references will not be considered.
- Passport Copy: A copy of passport clearly showing the photograph and citizenship should be enclosed to complete the application process.
- Note: The Templates of the above-mentioned documents will be provided by the Swedish Institute.
SISS Application Form Submission
The candidates are required to complete the Stage 1 of application and only shortlisted candidates will be notified to complete the Stage 2 of Application. The applicants who have appeared in Stage 2 needs to submit the above list of Documents.

The selection of the candidate for the scholarship will be done on the basis of their academic merit and the potential of the candidate.
Result: The result of the SISS will be published on 10 April 2017.
