About Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
Taiwan ICDF scholarship programme 2019 is for the Indian students who want to pursue Undergraduate, Graduate, and PhD degree program in Taiwan. The application process has been started on 1 January 2019. Candidates can apply online by 15 March 2019. There are total 31 programs eligible for the scholarship.
The Taiwan ICDF has established the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA) with its partner universities and will provide each recipient with a full scholarship including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fee, insurance, textbook costs and a monthly allowance.

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Reward
Taiwan ICDF is a fully Paid up scholarship and includes
- Airfare: The Taiwan ICDF arranges an economy class, return tickets for the most direct flights to and from Taiwan.
- Housing: All students must reside in student dormitories
- Tuition fees: The Taiwan ICDF covers tuition fees as required by a student’s university.
- Credit fees: Credit fees, which vary with the number of credits registered, are also covered as required by a student’s university.
- Insurance: In addition to the mandatory student safety insurance set by the Ministry of Education, each student must be insured for accident and medical coverage while in Taiwan. The Taiwan ICDF covers insurance fees for the entire duration of a student’s program.
- Textbook costs: The costs of textbooks purchased as required by instructors are covered by the Taiwan ICDF, subject to the approval of the director of the student’s institute.

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Application form and Process
The application process of Taiwan ICDF scholarship programme 2019 has been started and the last date to apply is 15 March 2019. Each applicant can apply only for one program at a time. The applicant also needs to submit a separate program application form to his/her chosen universities.

Applicants must complete an online application and then submit a signed, printed copy along with all other application documents to the following documents to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative in their country:

If the applicant discovers any mistakes or typos in their printed application form, they can apply again. However, they will need to take their final, corrected forms for submission.
Documents to be submitted with the application form
The candidate needs to submit a photocopy of the following documents.
- Passport or other document showing proof of nationality.
- Highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.
- English proficiency certificate. (It is to be noted that this means a TOEFL test score or that of another recognized English proficiency exam, or documents certifying that the applicant has graduated from a program where all courses were taught in English. Applicants who are unable to provide such proof of English proficiency due to special circumstances may be assessed for English proficiency by MHRD via interview or other forms of testing. Applicants whose official national language is English are exempt from submitting these documents.
- A Taiwan ICDF Medical Report (including an HIV test) dated within the past three months.
- Two letters of reference.
- Any other documents specifically requested by a ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative.
In addition to the above documents requested as part of their scholarship application, applicants should also submit all documents required by the Taiwan ICDF partner university that they are applying to before the admissions deadline of that university.

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Selection Process
First Review: The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative will conduct the first review of applicants based on the eligibility requirements and selection criteria of the Taiwan ICDF, and then submit their list of recommended applicants to the Taiwan ICDF no later than 31 March 2019
Second Round: A second review of the qualified applicants will be conducted by an academic committee organized by the individual partner university in joint cooperation with Taiwan ICDF representatives. Such reviews will be based on each university’s selection criteria, whilst also accounting for the eligibility requirements and selection criteria of the Taiwan ICDF.
After the second review has been conducted in cooperation with all partner universities, the Taiwan ICDF will announce its list of scholarship recipients, in principle, no later than 30 June 2019. Successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter through the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative to whom they originally applied.
It is to be noted that gaining admission from the university does not necessarily mean that the applicant has also been given a Taiwan ICDF scholarship. Only the applicant who receives the acceptance letter issued by the Taiwan ICDF is the scholarship recipient.
