Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay & Film Making Competition 2017 are organized by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India. The Honorable Prime Minister spoke about a Sankalp to make “Filth – Quit India” in his “Mann Ki Baat” on 29 July 2017. The main objective of this Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay & Film Making Competition is to help implement the Swachhta a Jan Aandolan. The registration process for this essay & film making competition is started on 17 August 2017 and will be continued until 8 September 2017. The competition is sub-divided into two categories i.e.
- Swachh Sankalp Se Swachh Siddhi Essay Competition on the topic "What can I do for a Clean India?"
- Swachh Sankalp Se Swachh Siddhi Film Making Competition on the topic "My contribution towards making India clean"

Swachh Sankalp Essay/ Film Making Competition Reward
The announcement of result and prize distribution event of Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay & Film Making Competition will be conducted in New Delhi on 1 or 2 October 2017. All national level winners will need to make themselves available for the prize distribution event. Three winners will be awarded at the national level. Awards will also be given at the State and District levels.
- Film Making Competition: The awards will be provided under the following categories.
- Age (Below 18 years), #below18
- Age (Above), #above18
- Essay Writing Competition: Senior citizens (above 60 years) and differently abled are encouraged to apply using the hashtags #senior and #differentlyabled, respectively, and will be given special recognition at the national awards.

Steps to Complete the Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Registration Process
STEP 1: Candidates have to fill their Full Name, Email Id, Mobile Number, DOB, and Gender in this page.
STEP 2: After filling above details, an OTP will be sent on the given Mobile Number to verify the authenticity of the applicant. Submit the OTP and click on the “Create New Account” button. Candidates will receive their login password on their mobile number & email id.
STEP 3: Candidates have to login into the MyGov portal through the ID & Password for submitting their entries.
STEP 4: After Successful login, candidates can submit their entries on the portal.
Submission of the Entries
Submission of Video Entries: Videos are to be uploaded on www.youtube.com and the link to the same must be shared on www.mygov.in. Entries submitted through any other medium/ mode would not be considered for evaluation.
Submission of Essay Entries: All entries must be submitted on www.mygov.in. Make sure your MyGov profile is accurate and updated as we will use the information on the profile for further communication. This includes your name and phone number. Entries of participants who fail to furnish complete profile will be rejected.
Instruction to Essay & Film Making Competition
The short film & essay could be made in any of the following languages - it is mandatory to use the hashtag along with the languages in which the essay has been written: #Assamese, #Bengali, #Bodo, #Dogri, #English, #Gujarati, #Hindi, #Kannada, #Kashmiri, #Konkani, #Maithili, #Malayalam, #Manipuri, #Marathi, #Nepali, #Oriya, #Punjabi, #Sanskrit, #Santhali, #Sindhi, #Tamil, #Telugu and #Urdu.
Instruction to Essay Writing Competition
- The length of the essay should not cross the word limit of 250 on the theme of Swachhta and describe how they can personally contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission.
- Participants should upload the essay in JPEG/PNG/PDF format only. No other formats can be uploaded on this portal.
- The essay should then be scanned, photographed, digitized or uploaded by any mode and submitted through the contest page.
Instruction to Film Making Competition
- The film can be shot using smartphones, cameras or any other digital recorder. Animation films, mobile films and films of any other genre produced with broadcast quality can participate in this contest
- The duration of the film submitted by the participant should be 2 to 3 minutes only. Films longer than three minutes will be rejected.
Swachh Sankalp Essay/ Film Making Competition Selection Process
- The submissions would be evaluated on the basis of elements of creativity, originality, composition, simplicity and effective communication of the message.
- The jury will be set up by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. The decision of the jury would be final and binding on all the contestants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants for any or their decisions.
