SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad (SKGKO’17)

SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad (SKGKO’17) is organised annually by Silver Zone Foundation in association with Society of Science Education. The application will start from 1 April 2017, the examination will be conducted on 12 December 2017 and 16 January 2018, the examination will be conducted on the date selected by the school.

• SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad (SKGKO’17) is open to students of class 1 to 10 and is based on CBSE/ICSE syllabus of the respective class. 
• By the means of SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad, the knowledge of students related to the fields History, Geography, General Science, Current affairs and sport etc. is evaluated.
• The registration for the SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad needs to be done by the schools for their students. The examination will also be conducted in the school premises itself.

• The candidates scoring rank in top 200 ranks will be awarded various prizes while every participant will get Certificate of Participation.
• More than 9000 schools in India and abroad are registered with SilverZone and conduct its Olympiads.
• SilverZone also conducts the following Olympiads:

Based on the result of Olympiad Examination, the candidates scoring top ranks will be awarded the following prizes:

First Olympiad Rank Holders: The First rank holders from each class will be awarded cash prize of Rs.10,000 along with a Winner’s Trophy.

Second Olympiad Rank Holders: The candidates scoring Second Rank in each class will get a Tablet Pc along with Winner’s Trophy.

Third Olympiad Rank Holders: The 3^rd rank holders from each class will get a Digital Camera and Winner’s Trophy.

4-10 rank holders: Top 4-10 rank holders from each class will get a wrist watch.

11-25 rank holders: Exciting Gifts will be offered to candidates scoring rank b/w top 11-25 ranks.

26-200 rank holders: Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to candidates scoring rank among top 26 – 200ranks.

Class Toppers: Class Toppers (1^st, 2^nd and 3rd) from each class of every school will be provided with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals provided that they obtain minimum 50% marks in the Olympiad examination.

Certificate of Participation: All the candidates participating in the Olympiad examination will get Certificate of Participation showing their Class/State/Olympiad/Rank and Marks.

The participation in SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad (SKGKO’17) is by the means of Schools only as individual applications are not accepted. The details of the application process are as follow:

• Mode of Application: The applications of the students willing to participate in SKGKO’17 need to make offline application by the means of their respective schools. • Application Fee: The students willing to participate in SmartKid General Knowledge Olympiad (SKGKO’17) are required to pay an examination fee of Rs.120.
  • Out of that schools can keep Rs.20 per applicant to cover up costs related to postage, photocopy etc.
• Mode of Payment: The application fee can be paid by any of the methods mentioned below:

The examination of SKGKO 17 will be conducted in 2 groups, the details related to the exam pattern and syllabuses are as follow:

Exam pattern: The exam will be conducted in 2 groups and the pattern of the exam will be different for each group:

• For Classes 1-2:
  • Number of questions: 30
  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice answers
  • Negative Marking: No
• For class 3-10:
  • Number of questions: 40
  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice answers (on OMR sheet).
  • Negative Marking: No

Syllabus and Sample papers: The syllabus of the examination is different for different classes. Depending upon the class of the applicant the syllabus and sample papers can be downloaded from here.

• Schedule of the examination: The examination will be conducted on 2 different dates i.e. 12 December 2017 and 16 January 2018. Out of the given dates, the final date of examination will be decided by the school. Details regarding the manner in which the test will be conducted will be sent with question papers.
