About Schwarzman Scholars Program
Schwarzman Scholars Program 2017, China invites applications from candidates interested in pursuing one-year Master’s Degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Economics and Business at Tsinghua University. The Academic session will begin in July 2017 and it is a fully funded program and exceptional students would be selected. The candidates selected for the Schwarzman Scholars Program 2017 will get complete scholarship including Tuition fee, boarding, laptop, the smartphone as well as health insurance.
Schwarzman Scholarship Program has been designed to enhance the leadership abilities of the students and deepens their knowledge of China in a global context.The Curriculum has been developed in collaboration with some of the very well-known universities such as Oxford, Harvard, Duke, Stanford, Yale and Princeton University.
Schwarzman Scholarship Program has no restriction over nationality and specific Bachelor’s Degree and every year it selects close to 200 scholars for the program. Though there are no restrictions on the nationality, but there are some reservations:
- 45% students will be selected from the USA
- 20% from China
- 35% from Rest of the World.
Applicants who hold passports from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao will apply online from March 1 March 2017 to 31 May 2017. Applicants holding a passport from any other country will apply between 17 April 2017 to 28 September 2017.

Schwarzman Scholars Program Reward
Total 200 candidates will be selected for the Schwarzman Scholarship Program and will be entitled to the following benefits:
- Tuition Fees
- Room and board
- Travel to and from Beijing at the beginning and end of the academic year
- An in-country study tour
- Required course books and supplies
- Lenovo laptop and smartphone
- Health insurance
- A modest personal stipend of $3,500
Schwarzman Scholars Program Application form and Process
The student has to make only one application for the scholarship program and need not apply separately to the University for the program. The applications for the scholarship will be made online and the students willing to make an application can visit the website in start the application process. Details related to the application process are as follow:
- Mode of application: The applicants need to make an online application using the online application portal of the university.
- Required details: While making the applications candidates need to submit the following documents:
- Transcript of academic record: A Transcript of the academic programs attended is to be uploaded at the time of application.
- Letters of Recommendation: Applicant need to submit 4 letter of recommendations and one of them should be from a recommender who has had direct experience with the candidate and can describe the candidate’s leadership potential.
- Curriculum Vitae: A latest CV of the candidate presenting all the relevant details and achievements.
- Essay: The candidate should submit an essay divided into 3 sections mentioned as follow:
- Personal Statement: Word limit of 750 words.
- Leadership Essay: Word limit of 750 words.
- Current affairs Essay: Word limit of 500 words.
- Video: Candidates may upload their video as well which is strongly recommended but not required. The video must be one minute in length and the file must not be less than 20 MB.
