About Scheme for Promoting Young talents in Science (SPYTiS)
Scheme for Promoting Young Talents in Science (SPYTiS) is a programme conducted by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment or students of schools and undergraduate courses. This programme includes two schemes SPYTiS-I and SPYTiS-II, in which students have to accomplish the assigned project. Students with innovative ideas in Science & Technology can apply for the competition. The candidates from schools, polytechnic colleges and those admitted to undergraduate level courses in colleges are eligible for SPYTiS-I and SPYTiS-II schemes. SPYTiS- I
- Under Scheme for Promoting Young talents in Science (SPYTiS) students of Class 8-12 formed in a group from a school will be selected for the award Rs.5,000 for doing a science project.
- The duration of the project is one year.
SPYTiS II
SPYTis II is for the students who have innovative ideas in science & technology and enrolled in polytechnic colleges and undergraduate courses in colleges will be provided financial assistance of Rs.10,000 for conducting projects.

Scheme for Promoting Young talents in Science (SPYTiS) Reward
Under the SPYTiS 1, Rs. 5,000 will be given to qualified students for accomplishing the science project and the duration will be for 1 year.
For students enrolled in polytechnic colleges and in undergraduate courses under SPYTiS 2
- Under the SPYTiS 2, Rs.10,000 will be given to qualified students for carrying out the project work and duration of the project will be of 1 year.
- Investigators wishing to publish technical/ scientific papers based on the research
work done under the project, should acknowledge the assistance received from
Council, indicating the scheme
Note: The grant will be released directy to the host institution only.
Other benefits of the Scheme for Promoting Young talents in Science (SPYTiS)
- Awardees will get an opportunity to participate in a Science Talent Fair, Children Science Congress or Kerala Science Congress organized by KSCSTE for presenting their projects/findings.
Scheme for Promoting Young talents in Science (SPYTiS) Application form and Process
SPYTis Application form can only be filled online only by the participants. There are two kinds of SPYTis held. The participants can fill the application form as per their eligibility by following the link below.
- SPYTis - I: For the students of class 8-12, scheme 1 is valid. Therefore, the candidates from class 8-12 has to fill the SPYTiS - I application form
