• Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship for Study in USA is for Permanent Teachers working in Universities and UGC approved institutions to get involved in research in an institute in USA. The Fellowship offers monthly stipend of 3000 USD.
• The Online application can be made by the candidates who have a Ph.D. degree in relevant subject is willing to undertake Postdoctoral research work in any University or Scientific/ Technological/ Research institution of USA.
• The Scholarship is available for the following field of research:

Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship for Study in USA Rewards    

• Number of Fellowships: Total 300 scholarships will be awarded by UGC to suitable candidates after interview.
• Duration of Scholarship: The minimum duration of the fellowship is 6 months which can be extended to a total of 12 months.

The fellows awarded with the Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship will be entitled to the following benefits:

• Monthly Stipend: The selected candidate will be getting monthly stipend of USD 3000 (Approx. Rs.1,90,000)
• Contingency Grant: In order to cover the expenses on visa, airport transfer and Medical Insurance, the applicants are entitled to a one time personal contingency grant of up to Rs.50,000.
• Travelling Grant: In order to attend conferences and to visit other institutes of interest with the permission of advisor from Host Institute, the candidate will be entitled for a travelling allowance of USD 600/1200 depending upon the tenure of the fellowship.
• Air Fare: The air-tickets for the fellow will be purchased by the respective institution and UGC will reimburse the amount to the institution.

Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship for Study in USA Selection Process

The selection of the deserving candidate will be done by a two-step process i.e.

• Short-listing of the candidates: The shortlisting will be done on the basis of the submitted applications.
• Personal interview of the short-listed candidates: The shortlisted candidates will be judged by a panel of officials who will do the final selection of the candidates.
