About Post Matric Scholarship for ST students
- Post Matric Scholarship for ST candidates is an attempt from Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government to provide equal growth and development opportunities to candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe.
- Post Matric Scholarship for ST students is a scholarship funded by Central Government and administered with the help State & Union Territory Governments.
- The Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are enrolled in studies after class 10 in India only.
- Students enrolled in correspondence courses are also eligible for the scholarship.
- The amount of scholarship offered to the candidate depends upon the course which the applicant is undertaking and the status of the student in the institution i.e. Day Scholar or Hostler.
- The Online applications for the scholarship are to be made by the means of National Scholarship Portal.

The students selected for the scholarship will be entitled to the following benefits:
- Maintenance Allowance: The selected candidate will receive the monthly maintenance allowance as per the class in which they are studying and as per their status in the institution (Day Scholars or Hostler). The details are as given in the table:

- Fee: Thescholarship will cover the expenses of Tuition fee and other compulsory fees which are to be paid by the student to the institution.
- Annual Allowance: A sum of Rs. 1600 will be given to the candidate to cover up the expenses of essentials, books etc.
- Study Tour Allowance: A maximum of Rs. 1600 will be paid to the candidate as Study Tour Charges.
- For Research Students: The Research students will get Rs. 1600 to get their thesis typed & printed.

- On the basis of the course being undertaken by the candidate, it can be defined that from which group he/she belongs to:

(i)Degree and Post Graduate level courses including M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral research in Medicine (Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance /Administration, Computer Science/ Applications. (ii) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course. (iii) Post Graduate Diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine. (iv) C.A. /I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc. (v) M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral Programmes (D. Litt., D.Sc. etc.) a) In existing Group II courses b) In existing Group III courses (vi) L.L.M. |

(i) Graduate/ Post Graduate courses leading to Degree, Diploma, Certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B Pharma), Nursing (B Nursing), LLB, BFS, other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc., Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Art, Financial Services (e.g. Banking, Insurance, Taxation etc.) for which entrance qualification is minimum Sr. Secondary (10+2). (ii) Post Graduate courses not covered under Group-I e.g. M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./M.Ed./M.Pharma etc. |
