PCRA Saksham Competition 2019 -  Painting, Quiz and Essay writing

PCRA Competition 2019 -  It is organised by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and supported by CBSE. This year the competition has been named as SAKSHAM National Competition. PCRA conducts three competitions namely Painting, Quiz and essay writing competition. The winner gets a fully paid trip to Japan. Children studying in recognised schools within India, affiliated to all Boards, Central or state are invited for a National Level Painting, Quiz, and Essay Writing Competition The PCRA Competition registration has started from 1 July 2019 and the last date to apply is online is 30 September 2019. PCRA Competition Dates 2019-20

PCRA Competition Theme 2019

Every year PCRA keeps a different theme for the competition and the student has to submit their work as per the guidelines and theme of the competition.

• PCRA Painting Competition Theme: "Oil Conservation towards a healthy and better environment" 
• PCRA Essay Writing Competition Theme: "Oil Conservation towards a healthy and better environment".

PCRA Competition 2019 Prizes

The PCRA Competition Prize distribution will be held on 16 January 2019 in Delhi. The distribution of awards is given below.

PCRA Quiz Competition Prizes

PCRA Competition registration for essay and painting is through Schools ONLY. However, in Quiz competition, the candidates can also participate individually. There is no application fee for PCRA competition registration 2019.

It is advised to follow all the instructions carefully. The guidelines for each competition are given below. The school needs to register firstly in order to organize all the competitions.

PCRA Quiz Competition Online Registration by Individual student

The students can also participate individually in the Online Quiz competition. The link to register for Online Quiz Competition is available below. The student needs to upload the following documents while applying online:

• scan copy or photo of I-card of school
• certificate of Principal
• Aadhar Card
• Class 10th Certificate

Submission of the PCRA Paintings and Essays by the School

• Register School: Schools have to submit the entries through online mode. For submitting the entries online the schools have to first register online. 

• Principals of the school are also required to certify the number of students who participated in the Competition.
• Painting: School is required to evaluate the entries for each category, and upload the best two entries in each category (Junior/Senior), in which the competition has been conducted at the school.

PCRA Painting Competition Guidelines

• Candidates have to use A3 Size drawing sheet only to make their painting

• Theme of Painting Competition: "Oil Conservation towards the healthy and better environment"

• On the Top of the drawing sheet, make sure to mention: PETROLEUM CONSERVATION RESEARCH ASSOCIATION PCRA PAINTING COMPETITION 2019
• Candidates can use Pencils, pencil Colours, Crayons, watercolour etc. to make their painting look elegant.
• However, maximum numbers of eligible students are invited to participate in each category in which the school submits its entry.
• Duration 2 hours | Sheet Size: A3
• The students should take care of the following points 
  • The painting should depict the relevance of the theme
  • Use of proper colour combination and the given space should have been handled nicely.
  • Execution of concept/theme

School is required to evaluate the entries for each category, and upload Best two entries in each category (Junior/Senior), in which the competition has been conducted at the school,

The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 paintings in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi. PCRA shall bear the expenses of travel, and the best 100 in each category shall be advised on the same

PCRA Essay Writing Competition Guidelines

• Theme of the Essay Writing Competition: "Oil Conservation towards the healthy and better environment"
• Languages that can be used for Essay writing Competition
  Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo and Santhali. However, a minimum of 15 students must participate in each language in which the school submits its entry
• One student can participate in ONE of the 23 languages
• Word Limit: 700 Words in own words. Plagiarism will lead to cancellation of the entry.
• The essay has to be submitted by the student in their own language.
• Time Limit: 1 hour

School is required to evaluate the entries, and upload Best two entries in each language, in which the competition has been conducted at the school.

PCRA Quiz Competition Guidelines

• PCRA Quiz Competition will be conducted online through the web portal that is www.pcracompetitions.org.The maximum number of eligible students are invited to register by the school, for becoming eligible to form a school team.
• The school shall register the names of all students against the school ID on the online web portal mentioned above.
• Eligibility: Students of age 12-17 years (students born on or aer01.04.2002 and on or before 31.03.2007)
• It is mandatory for the students to complete the PCRA quiz competition during the school hours and each student will be given a time limit of 10 minutes to attempt 10 questions.
• Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy & Fuel, Transport, General Studies and other categories.

PCRA Quiz Competition Dates 2019-20

PCRA will also organise Quiz Competition. The maximum numbers of eligible students are invited to register in a school to form a team. National Level Round will be held in Delhi. The Questions in quiz competition shall pertain to Fuel Conservation, Environment, General Studies etc.

PCRA Quiz Competition selection will be made on the basis of the following 5 rounds

Note: The First three levels are Online Quiz Rounds and Round 4 & 5 are " Live" Competitions.

PCRA Result 2019

The shortlisted paintings/essays sent by the school will then be examined by the Jury appointed by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA)

• Final Round of Painting in Delhi: The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 paintings in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi. The expenses for these participants will be borne by PCRA.
• For Essay: In order of Merit the jury will select the three best essay in each of the above stated 23 languages
• The final results will be announced in December 2019.
