About Painting Competition on Water Conservation
9th National Painting Competition on Water Conservation aims at making the children aware of the need for conserving this precious resource and at the same time involve their parents in this noble cause. This National Painting Competition on Water Conservation is conducted by Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Central Ground Water Board, Government of India. The 9th Painting Competition on Water Conservation will be held in three stages, namely, School, State and National Level.
The Students of Class 6,7 and 8 can participate in the competition and create their artwork on the below-mentioned themes using any drawing material such as crayons, water colour, etc.
The 7th National Level Painting competition organised in Delhi on 8 February 2017 in August Kranti Lawn, India Gate. Over 13 Lakh students from more than 13,500 schools across the country participated in the State Level Painting competition. 93 students have been selected for the National Level Painting. The result of the competition would be declared on the same day.

The painting competition is open to students of class 6-8 of all the schools in India. Students who have won 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes at State/UT level competition in previous years (i.e. 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013) are not eligible for participation. The consolation prize winners of previous years can participate. Mandatory Aadhar: In order to participate in the 8th Painting Competition on Water Conservation 2018, the candidates must have an Aadhar card. The candidates desirous to participate in the competition and avail the facility under the scheme will be required to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar. The candidates wish to participate in the competition but have not an Aadhar card, will have to apply for Aadhaar enrolment by the prescribed date. |

All participants of school level competition will be given a Participation Certificate signed by Regional Director, CGWB and Member Secretary, CGWA
For State Level Painting Competition on Water Conservation 2018
The cash prize award and a Certificate of Merit to the Winners
- First Prize: Rs. 10,000
- Second Prize: Rs. 8000
- Third Prize: Rs. 5000
- Ten Consolation Prizes (@ Rs. 1000) would also be awarded to all the Participants.
- All 50 participants in each state would be paid an incidental charge of Rs. 1000 for attending the state level painting competition.
- Travel Expenses: Participant along with two parents/guardians would be paid to and fro fare by ordinary bus/ sleeper class rail fare.
For National Level Painting Competition on Water Conservation 2018
The cash prize award and a 'Certificate of Merit' to the Winners.
In 2017: 93 students were selected for the National Level Painting Competition and the competition was conducted in August Kranti Lawn, India Gate, New Delhi

- All the participants from each state would be paid a lump sum amount of Rs. 3000 for food & lodging, transport, and other incidental charges.
- Travel Expenses: Participant along with two parents/guardians would be paid to and fro fare by ordinary bus/ AC III Tier.
- Participants from A& N and Lakshadweep would be reimbursed to and fro economy class airfare.
Painting Competition on Water Conservation Application form and Process
All Applications have to be sent to school. No Individual student or Parent can directly send the painting.
Level 1: School Level Competition - Expected to be concluded by Last week of September 2018.
- School Principals will organise painting competition of 2 hours duration at their schools.
- Drawing materials for the school level would be provided by the schools/ students. Ministry of Water Resources/Central Ground Water Board will bear no cost in this regard.
- Use of collage or patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
- Paintings can be made on A3/A4 size paper, there is no restriction on the type/size of paper, drawing material like crayons, water colour, crayons etc.
- Paintings not signed by the school Principal or sent directly by student/parent to the Nodal Officer will not be accepted.

Level 2: State Level Competition - Expected to be conducted in November-December 2018
- The paintings received from schools all over the country will be further selected, The jury members will select 50 best painting out of them and they will qualify for Stage 2 of the competition.
- The state level competition will be conducted with 50 students whose paintings are selected as best 50 paintings from amongst the entries of the school level painting competition.
- All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided by CGWB. Items may include a kit containing paints, ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc.
- The theme of state level painting competition would be revealed on the spot.
- Use of collage or patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
- All 50 students must submit 3 latest passport size coloured photographs, preferably along with the soft copy.
- All students should bring identity proof or letter from respective school Principal.
Level 3: National Level Competition
- The winners of first, second and third prizes from each of the States/UT’s (i.e. three from each State/UT) would be called to New Delhi for the competition.
- All students are required to bring identity proof or a letter from the respective school principal.
- All drawing materials and associated requirements would be provided by CGWB. Items may include a kit containing paints, ruler, brushes, pencils, erasers, etc
- Use of collage or patchwork will not be permitted in the paintings.
- Drawing sheet size provided to the students will be of 380 mm x 510 mm size (approx. 15" x 20").
- The National Level Painting Competition would begin at 10.30 a.m. and end at 12.30 p.m. Results would be announced by 4 p.m. the same day.

Selection at the School Level
- The school level competition should conclude by the last week of September 2018.
- 3 best paintings are to be selected from each school and the same are to be forwarded to the concerned Nodal Officer of CGWB.
- The selection of the three best paintings from each school is to be done by the respective school authorities

Selection at the National Level
- Selection of the prize winners and consolation prize winners are to be completed on the same day by juries and winners awarded.
- Results of the competition would be declared at 1600 hours on the day of the competition.
